Tinder match bingo
2020.09.18 14:14 AylersTinder match bingo
Hello y'all beautiful people. First, please excuse me if my flair ain't the right one. I felt like this was the best one since this happened to me personally today, it's not a rant and I don't know what "Brant" means lol So today I(24M) matched on Tinder with a girl(25F) and, as you do, started chatting her up. Conversation started with my cat since I have a pic with her on my profile, because she's my lil' bundle of joy and I want people to know that she comes with the package ;) Anyway, during our conversation, Karen was very pushy with her opinions and basically discarded every vet-approved decision I had made regarding my cat as being a braindead decision, without actually being so forward. I was like "Sure, I don't know that much about cats and she's boasting about having 3 or so, which really isn't that much of an issue IMO an she seems to know what she's talking about". To be more specific as to the segue, my cat has recently given birth and I was joking that if my cat wouldn't have been such a good mother I would've had to bottle feed the kittens and stimulate them to go potty, which would've been ironic since I don't want kids and am planning a vasectomy as soon as #Corona season fucks off. Boy, Oh Boy ™ She then proceeded to spew bingos faster than Eminem can rap. "You're young, you'll change your mind." / "Why would you do something so extreme and serious when you can just use protection??" / "I want at least 2 kids; children give you purpose and goal in life!" / "99% of women want children!" / "What will you do when your girlfriend/wife (she used both terms lmao) will want kids??" / "It is your hormonal purpose to have kids! (lol wut?)" / "Have you seen a therapist regarding this? (who asks this shit??)" / "You'll regret it when you're older!" Now, I'm normally a chill, laid back, non-confrontational dude. But something about this chick just... Cheeky Son of a Bitch mode engaged "As a matter of fact, I am seeing a therapist regarding, oh so many issues, and we've talked about this and SHE's been nothing but supportive in my choice regarding my body and my future" "You're also young, won't you change your mind regarding having 2 kids?" "If my partner, whoever she may be (I'm straight, but love to all my LGTB+ peeps out there dealing with this shit) wants kids, then guess what, she won't be my partner, because it wouldn't work, duh!" "Because no form of protection is 100% effective except. guess what Einstein, vasectomies and hysterectomies (I may have botched that word) and I wouldn't ask my partner to have a H-omy because it's invasive AF and a vasectomy is like 10 minutes, wham bam thank you ma'am!" "I feel sorry for you if you think your life couldn't be considered accomplished without a baby whooshing out ya coochie, but there's plenty of historical figures who've accomplished amazing feats without having to change a single diaper." "IF I regret my decision I will adopt, because there's literal thousands of children worldwide, just wishing they'd have even one parent to care for and love them." --- "Why adopt when you can have your own??" --- " 'Cuz there's literally almost 8 billion of us on a planet that won't have it anymore with us." --- "Then why not have a baby and then adopt??" --- "You didn't pay much attention during math in school, did you?" Honestly the thing that pissed me off the most was the therapist part 'cuz I have been struggling with self-love and self-confidence all of my teenage and early 20s and this year has been a big year for me, mental health wise and to hear her treat my CF status as some sort of mental illness just irked me and so I have delivered one of my best comebacks in recent years, maybe ever. "Maybe you should see a therapist regarding them control freak issues of yours. Not everyone has to agree with you." It's not much but seeing as I've always had troubles keeping calm and collected, being able to deliver this small slap back during her barrage of bingos was the highlight of my day. Needless to say, she soon after unmatched me and I have been having this big dumb grin on my face since :D All the best to them kids tho if she ends up having them. They'll fucking need it. Peace out, friends, all the best!
But I don't give a fuck, walk inside the lion's den...Up your catalog, dog, mine's worth too much/Like Mike Jacks ATV pub, Mottola can't touch
The original annotation says: Nas is bragging about how much his catalog of songs is worth, comparing it to Michael Jackson’s ATV Music Publishing (owner of The Beatles‘ songs and others). The 'Mottola can’t touch’ refers to an incident in 2001 when Sony Music Entertainment, headed by Tommy Mottola, unsuccessfully tried to take all of Jackson’s music rights Sony is also the parent company of Columbia Records, Nas' old label. He could be saying that, like MJ, Tommy Mottola can’t touch his publishing either. Whether or not this boast is true remains to be seen… Owning your publishing and owning your masters are two different things, with publishing being more lucrative. Master rights typically belong to either the artist(s), record label, recording studio, or any other party who financed the recording. Publishing rights belong to the owner of the actual music composition. Michael Jackson had so much money that he bought many cataloges in his lifetime: the Beatles, Sly and the Family Stone, Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, and Aretha Franklin.
Eminem is known to get into his Slim Shady persona as a single to launch is upcoming album with "my name is" for "slim shady LP", "The Real Slim Shady" for "marshal mather's LP", "Without Me" for "The Eminem Show", "Just Lose It" for "Encore", onward etc, because causing controversy gets free publicity for the album. Eminem for "just lose it" made fun of Michael Jackson's alleged pedophilia but in the music video, Eminem was explicitly warned not to portray that but instead made fun of Michael Jackson's hair catching on fire for the pepsi commercial and his nose. Michael Jackson got pissed and bought the publishing to eminem's back catalog so whenever Eminem decides to make music, Micheal Jackson gets paid...this is how you settle beef on the business side, you don't make a diss record for them to respond back, you buy their publishing so they work for you...this demotivation and Proof dying just made Eminem take a leave of absence from rap in 2006. People from the black community still look up to Michael Jackson and when he made those moves, people paid attention. When eminem was set to come back in 2009 with his lead singles 3AM/We Made You to start off his album, Michael Jackson mysteriously died later that same year....How is it that singers who own their master's like MJ, whitney houston, and Prince die so mysteriously? and then some record publishing company quietly takes a stake in their publishing years later? MJ was the first to die unexpectedly because MJ owned the masters to other people as well, and then came Whitney in 2012, and then Prince in 2016.... OK, let's take a tangent to talk about the record industry and record executives...they are egotistical, maniacal, and power hungry cut throat entities....when sound recording was invented in 1860 and slavery was abolished in 1865, blacks had to find work any way possible and some of them migrated up north to detroit to join the auto industry. Other stayed in their cities...Record labels saw black talent and paid them next to nothing where before there was color TV, you could only hear the voices, so black acts had to sound white for white bands to lipsync and cover their music for the music to have universal appeal because of their complexion. Because the record industry started and capitalized on literally ex-slave labor, the deals were horrendous from the beginning, because the labels and the record executives owns the lion share of the profits and the artist get paid enough to keep making music but remain relatively poor...they get paid in "fame points" like reddit/genius authors get paid in "internet points".
You don't hear about record executives unless they make significant news...you think suge knight was cut throat? At least suge knight was vocal about his actions. the record executives like Tommy Mottola was once married to Mariah Carey but when Mariah divorced him, Mottola did everything in his power to sabotage Mariah's career and if it wasn't for Mariah's talents and her appeal to the r&b community, her career might have folded with Mottola's influence driven by revenge and obsession. As the original annotation says, Mottola unsuccessfully tried to take Jackson's publishing rights back to Sony, which is also a parent to Columbia, Nas' label at the time. Mottola basically took a then industry plant Jennifer Lopez and pit her against Mariah Carey by trying to appeal to the r&b market to the point of using the same samples to sabotage Mariah Carey's singles. JLo has many times where she was caught lipsyncing to other singer's vocals, most notably Ashanti's, for I'm Real remix, and most of her collaborations with murder inc...on some songs, it obviously doesn't even sound like JLo was singing, such as Get Right...and this was all for Mottola to get back at Mariah for their divorce because every time Mariah is trying to release an album or staging her comeback, JLo somehow comes out lipsyncing to another ghost singer's hit record around the same time. In addition, Jimmy Iovine, the head of interscope, was infamously associated for calling the Feds to raid Murder Inc's offices with their association with drug trafficker Supreme so that Ja Rule could not respond to 50 Cent's diss on "Back down" due to the Fed's monitoring their actions until a full year was passed with "Clap Back" because Ja Rule was a huge artist at the time and Jimmy Iovine needed extra insurance that the new artist 50 Cent was to win his beef with Ja Rule. Jimmy was quoted that he was a business man who will snitch if it is to his advantage in front of 50 Cent in 50 Cent's new book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter. What make Iovine relevant in this situation is that the Shady imprint was held under Interscope, and Iovine was probably pulling some puppet strings to get Eminem's catalog out the grasp and influence of MJ's possession and his top money maker Eminem who crosses over into mainstream audience into White America need to be incentivized to work for the record labels to earn more money.
Basically, record labels and record executives are the puppet master of things that move behind the scenes of why some artists get a lot of funding and others' career fold unexpectedly. Their seek for control for publishing rights and 360 deals is how also people who own their masters die unexpectedly and the label then quietly recoup the master's years later...like how Sony finally acquires MJ's publishing through his estate years later in 2018 with no fanfare or announcement because back when MJ was alive in 2001, Mottola tried but failed, which is what Nas was referring to.
OK, now back to Nas and Jay. In 1996, Jay sampled Nas on Dead Presidents and he wanted Nas to redo the vocals because the clean acapella removed the f-word for "I'm out for dead fucking presidents to represent me" for Jay to sample, but Nas was big at the time and didn't want to cosign a rapper without a record out. Only in the Q-tip remix and later in the 10th anniversary remixes does Nas drop the f-word on that dead presidents line. Nas does not use the f-word on the original Illmatic version of 'The World Is Yours'...this also is deep because Nas said that Dead Presidents' line in 1994 for "the world is yours q-tip remix", and in 1995 comes out a movie called Dead Presidents....and Jay was strategic with dropping Dead Presidents I and II as a single to match the movie's title but the single is not associated with the movie....hey where have we seen this move again? Jay did the same thing for American Gangster in 2008 as he did for Dead Presidents in 1996....He named his album/single after a movie for free promotion as an unofficial soundtrack/single where he was inspired by and piggy backed on that name for the album to carry more weight because the movie industry did more of the advertising for the same title and people would confuse Jay's CD for the official soundtrack. Back in 1996, Jay did this for his single instead of a whole album.
When Jay threw a jab at Nas at summer jam, Nas dropped H to the omo freestyle on rakim's paid in full beat and got Rakim's blessing, and nas said "I count off when you sampled my voice"...Jay responded to those lyrics and completed his Nas verse on Takeover by saying "You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song...I know who I paid, God–Serchlite Publishing". Jay owned his master's at Rocafella and Nas didn't but now Nas does with Mass Appeal records with his recent projects and somehow, Jay is in a 360 deal with Live nation but still owns his master's...when Takeover dropped, people were praising Jay for his bars where you had to think about what he was saying when he paid Serchlite Publishing to sample Nas because owning your master's and publishing was not big in Hip Hop at the time and Jay used his business savvy to claim superiority over Nas. And Nas came back on his verse for "Success" by saying that nobody can touch his publishing because he catalog is too expensive, almost as a jab back at Jay for sampling his voice that easily, and you had to think about that bar for the sake of who owns whose publishing, and mind you, Nas did his response jab when featured on a Jay-Z track, so whenever they perform it together, Jay gets to hear it live every time
With that stage set, let the publishing ownership games begin...2Pac infamously dissed Jay on "Fuck Friendz" released posthumously among other songs like the original version of 'Hit Em Up' and 'Watch Yo Mouth' and Jay had to pay 2Pac's estate when Kanye made the same beat for '03 Bonnie and Clyde' off 'Me and My Girlfriend'....when 2Pac's mother unexpectedly died in 2016, this was another mysterious death because she held the publishing rights to 2Pac with Amaru Records and she was primed to release another 2Pac album but it kept on delaying because of the poor reception to "Pac's Life's" singles/collaborations and some fans did not like Eminem's interpretation of 2Pac music either on "Loyal to the Game", where eminem wasn't an apt producer because he had to speed up 2Pac's vocals to fit the tempo of the instrumental and butchered 2Pac's voice to shout out G-unit and Jadakiss, when they weren't even on 2Pac's radar when he was alive. With 8 years of not releasing another 2Pac album or a documentary/soundtrack to commemorate 2Pac to generate money, there was also money mismanagement, where they were going to build a 2Pac Amaru institute in Georgia but the funding to that construction collapsed. Afeni Shakur had a suspicious death as well, where finally 2Pac's estate was up for auction without anybody blocking it to the point that 2Pac's car that he got shot in in Las Vegas was also put up for auction.
So Roc Nation and Jay Z ended up buying 2Pac's publishing for $385 million, realize that 2Pac's catalog is huge with his work ethic and he has a ton of unreleased songs, where they had the intention to drop another 2Pac album yet still to release. “We’ve purchased one of Hip-Hops greatest icons music which would make us one of the largest record labels in the world. We have a plan set in motion to release a new Tupac album in 2016 titled, ‘And Now I Rise’ which will feature Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion), Drake, Nas, The Dream, DMX, Beyonce and of course Jay-Z. The album will be produced by Dr. Dre and Timbaland.” Again, people pay attention, it's no coincidence that this all happened. Jay brought MJ to summer jam and dissed Nas in 2001. Mottola unsuccessfully tried to buy MJ's catalog in 2001 for Sony but Sony eventually did in 2018...If you go by the way MJ handled Eminem, he didn't make songs to diss Eminem for making fun of him, MJ bought his catalog and that is how you really win beefs. So Jay bought 2Pac's catalog as a business move but also as a score to settle for being dissed by 2Pac. And what did Jay do with 2Pac's catalog? Nothing but sit on it and sometimes clear samples for other artists but that's it...no new 2Pac verses or songs/albums any time soon, and it's been 4 years since the announcement? It's not like a Jay Electronica situation where we had to motivate the artist to create the songs...2Pac's vocals have already been laid and it's up to the producer to recreate the instrumentals and match them with the correct collaborations. It was more of a business move and an ego trip for Jay to win that silent war he's been having with 2Pac's estate and to finally get rid of that chip off his shoulders more than anything. I hope you understand how big of a chip Jay-Z still thinks he got on his shoulders...he has an unreleased diss record for 2Pac that he performed once live at the Apollo where the track never resurfaced out of respect of 2Pac's death. He bought 2Pac's catalog so whatever Jay sampled from 2Pac goes back into Jay's pockets because Death Row was still not cool with Jay-Z at the time when Jay did 03 Bonnie and Clyde and Jay had to give away a lot of royalties to Death row for that song for him to remake it, and then Death row released Fuck Friendz, which dissed Jay-Z on track number 2 posthumously in 2001.
and Nas literally went into "the Lion's Den" when he signed to Def Jam when Jay was the label's president in 2006 and also he when he went on Jay's home turf when being featured on Jay's album for the first time in 2007 and dropped knowledge and bars out-rapping Jay on his own song. Why do you think Jay and Nas only perform Dead Presidents and The world is yous together? They barely perform Black Republicans and they almost never perform Success, where Jay also bit off Eminem on that same song...."I used to give a fuck, now I give a fuck less/What do I think of success? It sucks, too much stress/I guess I blew up quick/'Cause friends I grew up with"...that is an eminem line from "I'm Back"....."I used to give a – fuck, now I could give a fuck less/What do I think of suc-cess/It sucks, too much press I’m stressed/Too much cess, depressed, too upset/It’s just too much mess, I guess I must just blew up quick"....And Nas dissed Jay-Z on Ether for saying that "Eminem murdered you on your own shit" and now when you're finally collaborating with Nas, you start off your first verse biting Eminem to keep up with Nas? "my own flows are foolish" as Jay said on "what more can i say" when he was originally accused of biting Big as a response to mostly Nas' diss on Ether "how much of biggie's rhymes are gonna come out your fat lips?" and now Eminem?...yeah, about that, right? So, present year. Nas drops King's Disease, where the symptoms most describes Jay, where Jay is in the position of a king but still have insecurities, like you can take jay out the hood but can't take the hood out of jay. If you read beyond the lyrics, the message was not for most listeners because most listeners have yet to rise to that position of King, which is why some critics aren't vibing with it..you're missing the point. The album's message is mostly directed at Jay, where if you go to my reddit timeline link of Jay's and Nas' beef, the timeline still have remnants of subtle jabs til this day, from insecurities and jealousies, to sabotaging release days, to limiting the time Nas has to write his verse before Jay had to turn it in so that Jay doesn't get murdered on his own track by Nas if Nas was given enough time to craft a better verse, to jabs in the title, etc.
Look, Nas had to write his verse for Success at 4AM in the morning in Canada after a show because Jay had to turn it in. Nas was clearly at a disadvantage to complete his verse and yet he still murdered his verse. That was a subtle limited time sabotage Jay did to Nas and Jay did it again for Nas' feature on BBC. The point is, Nas on King's disease was asking why does do people want to kill Nas when he said "Can I floss without you wanting me outlined in chalk?" on the title track. As mentioned with the recent music related mysterious deaths, they all point to people owning the rights to their master's...MJ, Whitney, Prince, 2Pac's mother...and who else owns their master's? Most prominently Jay and Nas, among others. These artists alive are all at risk for mysterious deaths when they stop or slow down their music production because the music industry is always looking for martyrs to capitalize on their deaths once music production slows down or ceases for one last money grab. Nas never drops every year...he's used to dropping every other year. Nas knows what's up with the shady music industry with shadow puppet masters, record labels, and executives. Nas just can't outright say the dangers of what he is facing so he is forced to put it coded in music as a dog whistle for specific people to receive the message...he's upping his music production after he was freed of having the court system misinterpret his rap lyrics when he was fighting for child custody against Kelis. There are specific dangers of owning your own publishing because the industry will make moves behind the scenes to recoup your catalog. Jay is friendly competition and Nas sees a bigger threat in the industry with labels and record executives so he is addressing it to all 1-percent or 0.1-percent fortune owners who all have the king's disease, which basically flies over the heads of most audiences, as most Nas records do when they are initially released and they grow on you years later after you have matured to his stage to think about life's consequences at that level. So yeah, given that Jay saw MJ's strategy of buying up people's catalog to win beefs outright, Jay is eyeing on Nas' catalog to purchase if he were to have an untimely death and then it would be declared that Jay won the ultimate war against Nas as he did against 2Pac. So this story revolves around Nas, 2Pac, Jay, MJ, and Eminem because they are the biggest money makers for the record industry and record labels and executives are always coming up with new strategies to do heinous things for the sake of more profit. Nas basically made a prophetic statement in 2007 because he wants to have his music catalog so large with great money management and people so that nobody ends up buying the rights to Nas' catalog...so when Nas said that verse in 2007, he didn't own his own record label until 2012 and he took strides in investments and upping his catalog, which is why it is worth repeating again, because it was foreshadowing for things to come and some of Nas' goals have been realized since then:
But I don't give a fuck, walk inside the lion's den...Up your catalog, dog, mine's worth too much/Like Mike Jacks ATV pub, Mottola can't touch
When they performed 'success' at the Apollo, you can tell which lines Jay were feeling based on what Nas bars Jay rapped along to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp_K7Kg4AUM and as you clearly see, Jay did not recite the last bar at all, which is the one we just overanalyzed
2020.08.23 19:48 jensyaoRandom takeaways from various recent Nas interviews about his latest album King's Disease
not sure if you seen all the nas webinar interviews he's done surrounding his latest album, but i've posted it on this subreddit for reference...or just filter your nas searches on youtube for this past week or month
a lot of this is me processing and paraphrasing what was said...Nas overthinks his lyrics to the point that the backstory from the interviews is more compelling that the lyrics themselves...having lyrics rhyme while retaining the message, even if you are a wordsmith, is difficult and people miss bars all the time...so not only is the message reduced to a simple rhyme, people can also miss the message, sometimes due to that simple phrasing or the over-saturation of beats, so that is why some lyrics are very literal and not convoluted to convey the message...also, genius.com is notorious for deleting annotations due to frivolous reasons so I guess I am keeping a copy here in case someone years later is googling to find the context to King's Disease.
premise, to catch up to speed (google it, or ask if you need more reference):
first of all, nas lives in LA if you didn't already know, but he reps Queensbridge from afar because he's lived there long enough and has connections to still talk about hood politics, like he did on "not going back" and "qb politics". he used to live in a mansion in Georgia during the street's disciple/hip hop is dead era, which is ironic two-fold because in seclusion, Nas got a lot of songs done, hence the double album but it's a slept on album and was overshadowed when it was released because 2004 was a big year in rap. the other irony is that nas claimed hip hop is dead in 2006 while residing in the south, so the collective southern rap listeners and artists took offense to that when southern rap was on the rise and nas had to collaborate with the likes of rich boy, lil wayne, david banner, rick ross, dj khaled, and young jeezy and whomever else popping at the time to win back the appeal to those southern artists and listeners
Nas obviously likes beats that 'has breathing room' to let his words overlay the tracks for listeners to get the message instead of just instrumental-heavy 'club banger beats'....either the track resonates to him or Heavy D, who died, made a beat specifically for Nas to rap on on "The Don"...when it comes to big name producers like Pete Rock, Nas is reluctant to release tracks because he does not want his latest releases to "tarnish the legacy" of legendary producers, which is what happened to those tracks being eventually released on Lost Tapes 2...so that is partially why Nas likes to work with lowkey producers like salaam remi, etc to ease the pressure off and why that DJ premier, etc joint albums wont happen
Nas likes to work with producers that take initiatives on songs. if you are persistent like DJ Khaled who goes the extra mile to convince you to do a verse in every which way possible, eventually, that wears off and Nas hops on the song...just look up what DJ Khaled had to do to get Jay-Z to do a verse...Khaled had to move his whole family to New York for like 8 months or something and hang where Jay-Z likes to frequent from being at the gym shooting hoops when Jay-Z arrives at the gym to random borderline stalker stuff like being in the same meetings and yacht parties until Jay-Z gave in...and Khaled has the secret sauce of his inspirational speeches and the way he picks beats to little things like setting the thermostat to a certain temperature (Akon) to get the best from the artist...when you listen to "nas album done", it has contributed khaled signature phrases all over the hook as well as samples Lauryn Hill, someone Nas is a good friend of and admires...some producers like pharrell premade the hook in the demo instrumental and a lot of rappers end up going with the direction of pharrell's original hook because rappers can write bars to that hook but the hardest part of a song is creating a compelling and catchy hook for it to be a song and not a non-cohesive freestyle...so when kanye decided to produce a whole Nas album (after kanye promised obama), Kanye's strong initiative/persuasion and last minute beat selections made Nas to create the album regardless of how hectic the conditions were -- from frantically trying write within a week's deadline after waiting around the week prior from pusha t's release, to performing a song in one take with rhymes not in pocket and getting ridiculed by the likes of crooked i and joe budden, and shipping it with an 1.5 day delay while being overshadowed by a surprise beyonce/jay-z album ambush release that same weekend. what Kanye contributed to Nas' album was the artwork, some hooks, the beats, various connections for collaborations, and the 7 sins theme because Kanye was on his religious theme. Credit goes to Kanye for breaking that 6-year dry spell of Nas being of unable to release an album for whatever reason and being true to yourself to stay relevant in the public's eye by reinventing yourself to reflect your thoughts of today in the messages of the songs.
Nas has "recorded a bunch of shit" over the years but he is sporadic with his studio sessions and he's not always in the studio like eminem...therefore, a lot of producers who lives within close proximity has to be on-call whenever Nas is looking for beats and is in writing mode. nas has to live life for a while to soak up information before he has enough wisdom to put it in content-rich prose. it's not really explained why Nas' sessions with swizz beatz eventually dissolved and didn't become an album...both sides spoke in positive euphemisms about the 3 tracks that were eventually released...swizz was also in in the LA area and if you want to produce for Nas, living in close proximity to Nas/LA as a producer is KEY, hence hitboy, who is a LA native. swizz has enough range as a producer but maybe Nas didn't have enough accommodations like "moral support" or "initiative" from the producer to reassure or reaffirm what Nas was writing was relevant to the culture to put it in permanent song form. the reassurance and reaffirmation, especially from the producer, who is first to judge your songs is key in overcoming "the legacy problem" with preserving the integrity with Nas' discography
i don't know why swizz beats collaborations are so hit or miss like 'summer on smash' from life is good sucked...like why the fuck does swizz want to rap or sing on every one of his songs by being on the chorus or intro and fuck it up with his corny rhymes? at least mannie fresh was funny when he did it but swizz is straight corny. swizz wants to rap and claim feature on his own productions so bad and having nas on the record just temps him even further...like when swizz did "echo" it was good but was unnecessary with his intro because Nas killed it with the first line of that song, and swizz over-cooks most of his beats by adding cacophonic generic "what" yells on "no bad energy" ...it just feels like Nas just lets swizz take advantage of him by spoiling the whole song and replay-ability of the message every time they collaborate and swizz voice sounds like I am getting a wet willie in my ear every time i hear him...nas is too much of a nice guy when not putting restraints and swizz's ego is too big headed because swizz wants to chase the "high" of trying to relive the moments of his past DMX productions had he just rapped on those too, because i think swizz claims more residuals when he is an feature on his own productions as well, so it's very money-motivated, but his actions spoil it for the fans when enjoying the music had swizz just did the beat and not show up vocally on all of his songs
Nas is a thinker and overthinking can lead to less creative energy for the sake of hip hop, which can instill in self sabotaging beliefs and behavior for thinking this song is not good enough for the standard of Nas, but the unreleased songs are still a lot better than most rapper's whole careers...ugh but true. unless the rapper was on drugs like gucci mane/lil wayne or have self esteem to the Nth degree like Kanye to care less about public perception, the producer has to step in and take this initiative and contribute to connecting nas with possible collaborations, the hook, and the grand direction, Otherwise, Nas tend to "over-think the songs he's writing" -- direct quote from "Back When," as commented by No-ID...that is why passive producers who just send the beat without much context doesn't end up with Nas completing the track (unless it was Ether, when nas was motivated by external revenge...and this is partially why 9th wonder keep on sending Nas beats but we have yet to hear a 9th produced Nas song and 9th still lives in north carolina and that's also a disadvantage) because Nas has to get some accommodations out of the interactions of working with various people in-person to create art...or the beat has to be super intricate with the producer in-person for Nas to start creating (alchemist, c-sick, etc) or he's compelled to do an one-off song because of some sponsored corporate backing (levi's - 'hey young world', redbull - 'film', nike - 'classic', hyundai - 'regeneration', sprite - 'AZ and Nas sprite freestyle', etc)
Nas is able to release lost tapes from his Def Jam days, from Hip Hop is Dead to Life is Good (2006-2012), because his albums are jointly released by both Mass Appeal and Def Jam, from Nasir (2018 onward) -- not sure if Nas still has any obligations with Def Jam to complete more albums for his contract or if his contract is lucrative enough to stay because of his legacy status when initially signing with Def Jam, but somehow he is also able to joint-release it under his own label. There's a trail of unreleased, unfinished tracks from Nas' Columbia days but there are still songs in the vault or barely ever heard that were done under Columbia and Nas would need to work out a joint distribution deal with Columbia and Mass Appeal if he were to release a Lost Tapes album that hosts his songs from his Columbia days, from illmatic to street's disciple (1994-2004)...If he reworked I Am and Nastradamus into the original double disk as it was intended, I would pay/sign a petition for that. If Nas were to remaster old tracks and release it under his own label, technically, those would be "new" tracks because the remastered quality technically is "different enough lawfully" to have a remastered release under sole distribution or new contract negotiations but I am not sure if Nas is more likely to spend time on investments than rehashing old songs like he constantly does for illmatic on anniversaries, but for other Columbia projects....Nas needs to ask what Diddy did to make the bad boy 25th anniversary compilation album of remastered songs and if he could do that to make a compilation remastered songs to recreate I Am Nastradamus as the intended double disk
Hitboy checks a lot of boxes: lives/works relatively close to Nas and is accommodating towards completing songs with reassurance as a producer. has range as a producer and has experience with past projects with big name artists with that contemporary generation sound. has connections with new artists with the likes of lil durk (which nas likes) and asap ferg to collaborate with what the new generation of rap listeners are into....another plus is that Nas feeds off youthful energy while having mature deep conversations with producers willing to give his time of day...some producers are cardboard when it comes to their personality besides being a good beat maker and nas probably needs to build a deeper rapport in terms of common circumstances growing up or common struggles to have someone to sharpen or cosign nas' messages on songs...hitboy is that sponge and he also redirects everything Nas said and challenges Nas to channel those ideas into song form. With that clear direction to write on a cohesive theme while keeping a relaxed atmosphere for creation, that reinvigorated Nas to focus and complete his songs without abandoning it halfway or leaving a trail of loose completed songs that doesn't fit the theme of any Nas album thesis.
Nas was originally looking for beats and was not on album mode, but was called to show up at the studio after a friend of both Nas and Hitboy saw Hitboy working with other artists. Hitboy was patient with what Nas had on his mind and they had deep conversations with what Nas had in mind as concepts for songs. That lead to the overall theme of what Nas was thinking, which could be paraphrased as "another level, another devil." No matter what heights of success you reach, you are still plagued by the ailments of the habits that drove you to success. Some traits of the successful can backfire, such as the over-emphasis of comparing yourself towards others to the point of jealousy, building your wealth while backstabbing business partners along the way, and having enemies to the point that you have to guard yourself in seclusion, unable to enjoy your success because you have become paranoid with karma and have no friends to enjoy it with (karceno4life, a youtuber astutely suggested that these traits of hyper competitive successful people who are still empty and unhappy with their wealth and accomplishments on Nas' album theme somewhat portrays Jay-Z in a way because Jay-Z always pit his releases against Nas because Jay considers Nas as the ultimate measuring stick in hip hop and Jay needs to outshine as well as control the likes of Jay Electronica for Jay-Z to still feed his competitive hungeedge to still be motivated while contributing to hip hop).
The literal concept of the king's disease is overeating to the point of gout, which happens after your body cannot digest the intake of calorie-rich food along with the lack of physical labor because you have excess wealth to the point of inactivity. Nas was contemplating these thoughts before the corona virus became a pandemic, which further solidified the message -- once you have excess time during lock down for your mind to wander and contemplate on past actions that lead to your accumulated wealth, can you accept and live with your conscience and karma?
So, Nas had these ideas and deep conversations with hitboy and hitboy was telling Nas to put those ideas into songs, by talking about the struggles and blind spots from the current president to the everyday man, with everyone living at the same time restraints under the same sun, moon, and stars. Once the corona virus created the lockdown, Nas said he was lost as anyone else with nothing much to do and Hitboy was the one who persistently asked and gave Nas positive feedback towards finishing those songs as something productive to do and eventually creating a full album around those songs with an overarching theme.
Hitboy wanted AZ to feature on one of Nas' songs and Nas was surprised for a person of Hitboy's age and west coast bias to even know who AZ was, and that this was early in the album creation process to even think about features. Nas knew AZ was working on Doe or Die 2 and called him up to get a verse. Once the AZ verse was secured, someone from Nas' crew ended up asking, why not have the entire Firm on the song? Nas didn't even have their numbers but eventually, the Firm members submitted their verses individually, where the members eventually heard the finished song upon the album's release. Nas collaborated with Big Sean on February and Big Sean put Nas on instagram asking if he was dropping an album, to which Nas said, something like that -- and Nas fans didn't keep their hopes up because of past projects that dissolved. Benny the butcher also has a Nas collaboration that was not out yet when he was on instagram live that collaboration may be on Benny's album. Hitboy premiered one of Nas' tracks during a beat battle against Boi1da, but that was regarded as a loosie or a song that eventually would be on another lost tapes album because "royalty" was also an one-off that ended up on lost tapes 2. There's so many loose Nas songs that Nas fans were waiting on another lost tapes at best but we ended up with a whole nas album. Once Nas' album was released, we realized that some connections that Nas made like charlie wilson was a long time collaborator of Kanye and some themes were a continuation of what the hastily made Nasir album intended to be. There were a lot of rappers on King's Disease that currently reside in LA on the album, such as anderson.paak and big sean -- a lot of rappers who are successful seem to reside in LA, which is a benefit for accessing people to collaborate with due to lock down conditions, especially when having the newer artist connections to Hitboy's past productions. The collaborations that really took effort to create was The Firm, with Dr Dre also in LA, pictured earlier this year on instagram, where we thought Dr. Dre was producing for Nas but instead just had a vocal feature because there was already too many cooks on the production side.
It feels like Nas' team and the hitboy's team were super accommodating to reach out to collaborators once the tracks and the theme were solidified, including the album artwork. Hitboy's ego did not get in the way of Nas' beat selection because what Hitboy thought was hot sometimes did not resonate with Nas and Hitboy proceeded with the next track. The lengthy collaboration list was the need of someone to sing a hook for it to be a complete song as well as some "guilty pleasure features" that Nas would not have done had his own ego got in the way of creating music, but I think Nas somehow transformed and mellowed out over the years by opening up to more collaborations that may not have met his standard in the past for his past albums...releasing lost tapes 2 was probably also a confidence booster for Nas because his throwaway concepts are better than most contemporary albums and the "lack of cohesiveness of a common album theme" are what contemporary rap album already are to keep attention deficit listeners entertained with various topics from song to song. (Nas usually shows up on a feature for other people's albums for his guilty pleasure collaborations and shows up on R&B songs with barely any promotion instead of hosting them on his own albums...it seems like a lot of people owe Nas verses from his past features that Nas has not redeemed for his own album) but Nas may be still shying away from high level lyricist collaborations to the likes of royce, eminem, cyhi, king los, etc...looking forward to if lupe and AZ would have Nas as a feature on their upcoming albums...nas squashing past beefs and reconnecting with past lyricists is a beautiful thing.
Nas probably likes creating albums for the sake of a public therapeutic session rather than performing because he only remembers a handful of his past song lyrics and has to study up because creating new songs gets in the way of having to remember old songs. Life is Good and other Nas songs that deal with the realities of life are underappreciated because people use music as escape instead of visiting problems that hit too close to home, which is why some Nas songs are created as his own venting therapy session that the public would later value as art instead of trying to constantly create hits to please the audience. Nas' messaging style is to always think for yourself but here are some gems that Nas is dealing with for your consideration to expand your own knowledge horizons, which is different from Jay-Z's approach...Jay tells you what to do and consume towards the likes of Tidal and alcohol marketing endorsements while Nas tells the audience to don't be sheep and think for yourself and guide your own actions. With this popcorn culture, it is sometimes easier for people to simply follow what they are told or to follow a trend than to consume time and energy for self sustainability and autonomy but Nas' message wins out long term while reminding you on this album that the grass is not necessarily greener when coveting other people's success and how to cure certain aliments of overexerted traits that got you towards your level of success in the first place.

Singer / songwriter looking for a long-term partnecollaborator producer NOTE: not looking to pay for beats. Looking to speak with someone who wants to create something TOGETHER from scratch. No room for ego’s. This is for pure love of the craft and for wanting to make GOOD music. We can talk about monetising the song later and going 50/50 with it. Think Timbaland/Timberlake, Dre/Eminem What’s going on guys? Hope everyone is cool and well-rested from the weekend. I don’t want to go it alone anymore. I can sing, write songs and lyrics, play guitar and I’ve got a great musical ear for arrangement and production. However, I’ve decided that shouldering the entire burden of composing and producing a song is too much for me. I bought a few pieces of gear earlier on in lockdown and it’s just too daunting for me to do it all solo. Are there any producers in the house and would you be open to creating and collaborating on a project together? I need a helping hand. Something like a 5/6 song EP, something of that ilk. My music and what I naturally gravitate towards is soft, mellow, smooth RnB with a tinge of rock sensibilities. Lyrically raw like Mac Miller with a touch of Frank Ocean-esque poetry. Lemme know ✌🏼🤘🏼

2020.08.08 09:07 HermanbobGoozA review and ranking of Kendrick's GKMC, TPAB, and DAMN
Hello, I am a big Kendrick fan, but I wouldn't consider myself a Stan like how I would for Eminem or Wayne, but I am a huge fan nonetheless. I've listened to all 3 of these albums countless times the full way through, no skipping, in one sitting, etc. I'm known for having some hot takes, but I promise i'll be respectful about it. Anyways, here we go: To Pimp a Butterfly This is, to most people, Kendrick's magnum opus, his Marshall Mathers LP, his Carter 3. Despite obviously not being my number one Kendrick album, I have to admit he put this album together very well. The idea of an ongoing story at the end of each song that builds off of each other originally introduced in GKMC is sharpened in this project, and it makes for a better listening experience. I know it's kinda against the unwritten rules to listen to this album in a different order than that of the tracklist, but I think it genuinely can be listened to that way. In fact, that makes this album even better: the fact that you can listen to each song separately without sacrificing it's conceptual importance. Wesley's Theory, King Kunta, For Free, and more feature very energetic production inspired by Jazz, Blues, Funk, and many more aside from hip hop while Institutionalized and Alright feature Kendrick rapping about racial injustice for black people in America which is kinda the general theme of this album on top of Kendrick's experimentation of other genres of music in his songs. DAMN DAMN features some of the best musical content Kendrick has created. Each and every song, while some maybe being lyrically weaker, sound great. The slower, calmer songs aren't boring, and the energetic songs aren't too much to handle. Songs like LOVE and LOYALTY feature Kendrick rapping and singing about the feeling of love while songs like FEAR carry heavy weight being almost a storytelling track from the perspective of Kendrick as a child ridiculed by his mother, a teenager with conflicting thoughts, and an adult questioning his worth. HUMBLE features Kendrick creating a song that sounds like it was intentionally made to become a hit which definitely succeeding at doing so. Kendrick almost sounds angry on some songs like ELEMENT and FEEL which, after listening to both songs, sounds justified since he feels like nobody really cares for him or notices his significance in the world. In this album, he was at his musical peak while creating this album, this is his sellout, mainstream hit album and he made it without selling out or going mainstream and giving up his true hip hop roots which is something that happens way too often these days good kid, m.A.A.d city This album is incredible, and still is from the first time I heard it a few years back. A young Kendrick tells his story of being brought up as a good kid in the m.A.A.d city of Compton, California which has a history of breeding troubled African-American youth born into fatherless, gang-infested, impoverished lives. I think Kendrick's lyricism and storytelling in this album is nothing short of beautiful. The production, while not being similar to that of your average west coast hip hop album from the late 90s early 00s era of Gangsta Rap and G-funk, there are many interpolations and references to just that in songs like m.A.A.d city. There are songs for everyone on this album and I truly think, when looking at Kendrick's growth as an artist, I feel as if this is most definitely his best album when looked at from a hip-hop perspective. The bonus tracks do not hinder the album in any way despite not following the story and acting as separate tracks with the sound of the album kept in mind. 10 Best Songs: - How Much a Dollar Cost: This is probably the best storytelling I've ever heard in a song, also probably the best sounding Kendrick flow I've heard. I think this is easily Kendrick's best song. The story starts in the first verse with Kendrick's interaction with a homeless person asking for a single dollar while arrogant Kendrick says no after parking his expensive, luxury car. The short, simple chorus consists of James Fauntleroy singing about how water, sun, love, and breathable air is the only thing you need in life which references Kendrick's avoidance of the "women, weed, and weather" California lifestyle. The second verse continutes with Kendrick starting to thinking about how he is not responsible for his homelessness but starts to feel guilty about not helping him out. Finally, the closing verse starts from Kendrick's guilt and after lots of deep thinking, Kendrick feels as if the worth of this dollar he gives to the homeless man is a guaranteed spot in heaven which is able to be purchased using generosity more than any monetary amount. The song is brilliantly put together and layed down over a calming, blues/jazz instrumental with a hip-hop rhythm. I like to be optimistic, but I really do not think Kendrick can top this song. - FEAR: The emotion is very present on this song and is arguably why it is so DAMN good (pun intended). I love how Kendrick showed his mental evolution from a different standpoint than that of GKMC's story. The song begins with a voicemail from his cousin Carl who speaks on why he thinks Kendrick has a chip on his shoulder. Each verse is told from Kendrick's mind at 7, 17, and 27 years old respectively. From a mischievous child to an emotional teenager to a distressed adult, what instilled FEAR into his mind changed over time when he had different responsibilities and different significance in the mainstream audience. Also, in the last verse, he cleverly sneaks the names of songs from DAMN into the lyrics which despite being a cool Easter egg, it makes you rethink the album's songs and how they really tie into his life. The song closes with another voicemail from Carl which consists of him going on and on about some conspiracy theory that everyone is from Israel or some shit, but I won't let that hinder the song whatsoever. - The Art of Peer Pressure: I absolutely love how this song plays out. The introductory segment with the old school g-funk style beat and Kendrick's singing is nothing short of great. As for the rest of the song, the storytelling is fantastic and the peer pressure theme is very evident through the repetition of Kendrick's emphasis of him only doing certain things around his friends. - Wesley's Theory: Kicking off TPAB, Wesley's Theory begins with a sample that is supposed to introduce the listener to the theme of the project. The funky aura and energetic vocals from Kendrick additional to the singing at the beginning of the verse makes for a fantastic track. - ELEMENT: I feel like this song sounds like Kendrick getting somewhat arrogant which he has every right to do. I love the rapping and the melodic yet hard hitting instrumental. The last verse carries a lot of weight when it comes to the lyrical content with Kendrick first saying how he feels like he gets damned for damn near everything he does, then he goes on about how people mistake his life, similar to those of other celebrities, for the life they see on TV and social media before making a bold statement about black artists being superior to the rest, which is true in a sense since they get the short end of the stick being the creators of most relevant, popular genres of music. - Swimming Pools: The thing I really love about this song is that it kinda plays two roles. It can be looked at as an introspective song about alcoholism and how it controls people or it can be viewed as a fun, party song through the frequent chorus. I adore how the extended version, which is on the album, features a long outro with a final verse that really pushes the song to a strong conclusion. It's a short song with short verses, but Kendrick does not have any trouble getting his point across. - good kid: This is probably one of his most slept on songs. From the Pharrell chorus to the speedy flow of the verses, the song gives an eerie vibe that really serves as a great build up to the next song which really sounds like all of Kendrick's built up energy from this track getting let out. The song's content is very cleverly put together, especially with the "But what am I supposed to do?" part of each verse, especially that last verse which hits hard. - King Kunta: At first I thought this song was super boring, but it gets so much better as it evolves and more gets added to the instrumental to the point where it takes priority over Kendrick by the time the funk becomes within you. The thematic content of the album isn't really too prominent in this song, but to be honest I really don't care. It's just a great song and I really don't have much to say about it - m.A.A.d city: This is the big song of the album that everyone knows about, like DNA or Alright. Straight out the gate, you get hit with a really impactful instrumental contrasting that of the previous track. As for content, Kendrick's first verse is about his experience with how not being affiliated with gangs in a heavily gang-infested area impacts his life and what he sees on a day to day basis. The second verse presents us with one particular memory Kendrick had recently after graduating from High School, an accomplishment that not many of Kendrick's Compton peers achieve. Finally, a dope MC Eiht verse helps the song really fit into the west coast environment that it embodies and if that doesn't do it, the g-funk synths at the end of the song definitely should. - These Walls: Holy shit this song gets you in your feels. The sensual intro really sets the mood before the strong instrumental and Anna Wise vocals come into play. After careful listening, it really sounds like the walls that Kendrick is rapping about are vaginal walls which made me look at this song in a whole different light. The inner walls of a woman, if able to talk, would be able to tell many stories about both her and her partners. They would be able to tell Kendrick a lot about her before she is able to do anything to him. This is a great song, but when the beat changes up and Kendrick raps that last verse, I swear I get goosebumps when I close my eyes and really listen.
Heyo, glad to see you here.. :) I am the type of guy who keeps the conversation up and always cares for his partner. I am very loyal and I do not care if we would have a LDR. Love is love.. there are no limits. Facts about me: - 182cm - average weight (I go to the gym just to stay fit so I‘m not very muscular) - not a smoker - drinks almost no alcohol (like 1-3 times a year) - plays videogames - loves music I am a very warm person.. so I give a lot of love in relationship. I would do things I don‘t even like in a relationship if I know you love these things? Why? Because it makes me happy if you are happy. I am not really into chubby girls but you don‘t have to be thin. Fun fact: listening to Eminem & 2Pac - Come Back (Paperman) while posting this.
2020.07.29 11:09 BotizYTShady Records following strange label Unsociable Records?
I don't know if this is the beginning of some marketing, but I found this a little strange and don't remember seeing them follow the page before - the Shady Records official Instagram account follow another label's account unsblrecordings, also known as Unsociable Recordings. They're also followed by both Paul and Royce, Preemo also, and something just seems off about their posts in how they don't feel official. They're supposedly partnered with an artist known as The Last Artful Dodgr (which looking at his latest release on Spotify shows Unsociable Recordings is signed under Interscope) and another artist known as Beni Moun. I can't find any previous history or connections whatsoever with this label and Shady Records/Eminem. Their website is very minimal too, just linking to a broken Twitter page, their active Instagram page as well as an email and Copyright 2018 at the bottom. What could this be? EDIT 1: Decided to head over to the artists page on Interscope's website, and neither artists mentioned above are on there. https://www.interscope.com/ LINKS: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unsblrecordings/ Website: http://www.unsbl.com/
2020.07.28 12:24 Treuer_GefaehrteToo much hunger for love?
Hi INFJ community. Doing the MBTI-test gave me a lot to think about who I am, why I feel the way I feel and why certain things in life plunged me into crisis. It would be interesting to see if anybody can relate to this. Take a seat, it will be a longer story. I never had many friends. Most of my school time I felt like an alien and completely out of place. My class mates listened to Eminem while I was interested in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. They enjoyed playing soccer. I found it the most boring thing and preferred reading a book or going by bike. But in time, after I was out of school I found a few amazing friendships. With my friends I can talk about stuff that really matters and go on great hiking tours. We have much trust and solidarity for each other. The problem is unfortunately they all moved away, two of them even to other continents. Having those friends out of the picture hit me more than seems to be comprehensible for most other people in my life. I love my friends so deeply that I suffer from their absence literally every day. I even tried to find new friends and to move on. I went to hiking groups and other activities. But it never lead to anything and just made me feel ridiculous. I often wondered if I'm doing anything wrong and why it is so hard for me to connect with other people. At the same time my friends left, I completely failed finding an employment that satisfies me and suits my personality. In every job I took I felt out of place and moving in a one way street towards a cul-de-sac. And I never got the jobs I wanted to have. These two factors made me fall into a depression for years. I often feel isolated, disconnected and without a purpose. I even joined a political party to have some meaningful work to do, to increase the chances of meeting new friends who share my values and to fill that void in me. I have a loving and caring husband (gay man here living with a man), the most wonderful I could wish for. But he is another personality type. He doesn't need friends besides his work, his colleagues and family. He doesn't understand my sadness. I feel like I have this immense thirst for deep connections with others who care about the same things that I care about. A thirst that cannot be satisfied by one single relationship with my partner. But I cannot even talk to anybody about it. When I carefully open up to my friends they seem to misinterpret any description of my emotional needs as a reproach against them. Often I feel like I love others more than they love me. Being gay brings even another complicated dynamic to the table. Although I believe that true friendship transcends gender and sexuality, I formed the deepest connections in my life with other men. Most of my friends being straight men, I often felt unable to articulate the strong amicable feelings I have for them and the deep appreciation I have for their friendship. I feel like it would lead to all kinds of misunderstandings with all that homophobia and toxic masculinity in the world. We all have grown in that regard. But I think we are all still subconsciously affected by tight role models and images of masculinity. There is no rule book for how to express deep yet platonic amicable feelings and how to communicate in a man to man friendship. I always fear to show too much, to make things awkward for others and to destroy a friendship. So I just suffer in silence. I walk around, feeling deep love towards many people I encounter, feeling the need to connect, to be close, to trust and be trusted, but at the same time feeling speechless and unable to shatter the glass wall that stands between the people I love and my true self. I wear a mask that conceals my pain and my inner loneliness. I often asked myself if there is something wrong with me. Doing the personality test showed me that at least in part my troubles are rooted in my personality. I try to accept myself as I am and work on finding ways to feel happier. Some days are good some days are bad. But there is always this unsatisfied longing for connection, for affection and for purpose. Does anybody here feel similar? And if so did anything help you to get better? Thank you for reading this and for letting me express this. Love to you all.
2020.07.27 04:52 throwawayceudhdhdPeople must stop romanticizing the past
TLDR good songs from 2019 do exist, and not all songs from 50 years ago were good. People have always had hookups and not all of them saved themselves for marriage. Women in the 19th century didn’t wear ball gowns everyday. If you lived in the past no one would even like you. There’s a fine line between enjoying old stuff and romanticizing the past like an idiot. Specifically, eras they know nothing about and never lived in. I get being a fan of vintage stuff or a specific time period, it’s actually cool to see people collecting vinyls for example, or being passionate about a certain aspect of History. I’m really into cottagecore myself, which is very much a vintage aesthetic. But damn, try to watch anything on YouTube about the 20th century, or just music videos from the 1970s. Scroll down the comments. « I’m only 14 but unlike all of my immature comrades who listen to Nicki Minaj, I exclusively listen to good old school rock bands. Music back then was so much better and had real lyrics. Nowadays all music sucks. ». Same bullshit under Mozart videos. Do they get that American pop stars who are currently popular among teenagers don’t represent the entirety of modern music? Listen to foster the people or the Hoosiers or something... or even Eminem for those who say « lolz Mozart is so much better than modern vulgar rap bullshit that dumb teens listen to ». Eminem’s rhymes are undeniably incredibly well written and don’t deserve less praise than dEeP lYriCs from old songs. Or if you enjoy old broadway musicals... The level didn’t drop. Modern songs from broadway musicals are awesome. Also not all old songs are deep. Laid back summertime jams have been a thing since a looong long time. Like Elvis, I like his songs but I don’t see how exactly he’s different from many modern commercial artists. Catchy songs, but the lyrics aren’t particularly deep and most of the time it’s mainly for money. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s easier nowadays to become famous with less talents (regarding instruments or dance or voice) than in earlier times, which means there are more shitty songs, but not less good songs. You’re just lazy. Or if we stray away from the whole music thing, there’s also a lot of stuck up people who think they’re better than everyone because they don’t have sex. And who love to talk about how people didn’t start having sex before 1990. Got into several arguments with women who kept saying « back then everyone saved themselves for marriage and I’m like that too because I’m a good woman», « sucks being a hopeless romantic in an era of hookups and premarital sex », or from men, « at least in the 1950s women respected themselves and weren’t promiscuous ». Guys. I’m pretty certain what you call hookup culture has been a thing since forever, and is being uncovered because sex is less taboo, which in no way should be considered a bad thing. Free unlimited access to p//rn for children is a bad thing. Teenagers having sex and college students getting tinder hookups is healthy, normal and unrelated to self-respect. Dating apps weren’t a thing in 1950, but getting a hookup at a baclub/hookup spot sure as hell was common. And it didn’t stop romantic people from being romantic. If other people having multiple sex partners before marriage stops you from being romantic, again, you’re just lazy. There are tons of people who don’t do hookups and who can’t wait to bring you flowers. There are also tons of people who do hookups and are actually capable of bringing you flowers. Just like in the 1950s! Because hookup culture doesn’t mean you’re the only hopeless romantic on earth. I know, mind-blowing. Marilyn Monroe would probably hate you for complaining about other people having hookups. Marilyn Monroe had hookups. And... Also was a hopeless romantic. And then we have the classic, « I wish I lived in the Victorian era, so I can wear beautiful dresses everyday ». Girly watches a period drama for two seconds and thinks every woman in the 19th century wore royal ball gowns everyday. Or girly watches Karolina Zebrowska and thinks that every woman in the 19th century wore historically accurate royal ball gowns everyday. Paintings and period dramas aren’t real life. Just look at any Victorian photo, it’s simple dresses with no patterns and just some lace 99% of the time. No volume or anything. And people who could afford photos were a MINORITY. Only queens and empresses (like Sissi, or earlier, Maria Antonia) looked like gorgeous paintings everyday, because it was part of their job. Looking constantly perfect to give a good image of their country. And young noble women too, on a lower standard of course, needed to look perfect to give a good image of their family and find a husband. And it was exhausting, you probably wouldn’t enjoy being a noblewoman in the Victorian era, even though in order to wear beautiful dresses everyday in the 1800s that’s what you’d need to be. You probably wouldn’t enjoy the Victorian era, at all. I think everyone reading this right now is objectively lucky as hell to be alive in 2020. Even just for the incredible freedom you get compared to certain times that are often romanticized (thinking specifically for people of color and women). The infinite knowledge you can get from just google and YouTube, knowledge that used to be reserved for rich people. The medical knowledge we have thanks to science advancing, compared to 1960s ads telling you smoking is good for the health. Or surgery being way less dangerous than it used to be. Could go on and on. Dreaming of an ideal life as a 1800s royal or 1950s housewife can be a coping mechanism I totally understand, but no era has ever been perfect, they all have their good sides but the good sides are overshadowed by the flaws and risks. It’s awesome to write love letters Victorian styles, but it just makes me cringe really hard when people start saying they genuinely wish they were Victorians for the sake of superficial positive things. It’s like watching anime and thinking everyone in Japan are cute schoolgirls with colorful hair.
2020.07.10 12:49 SassyPie1Dr Dre & Ice Cube- Horrorcore?
So to settle a discussion between me and my partner. Does any one else think that Natural Born Killaz by Dre and Cube is Horrorcore? I’ve also seen articles mention Eminem having roots in Horrorcore, ya’ll think this is true? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. TIA
2020.07.09 05:52 veganfanastic-Does it get better? *i don’t want this to come across as depressing* - ended up being a whole story sorry hehe
This is for the women who have been living with ADHD for a long time. Or new in diagnosis and feel the same crazy things. I’m 22 (this can apply to any age) and recently diagnosed. I don’t think I had ADHD as a child but I have always obsessively talked. My grandpa joked “you didn’t talk for two years then one day you opened your mouth and it has never shut”. I still obsessively talk and change hobbies and style (style not a big deal it’s clothing lol) all the time. So much everyone notices. My hobbies were consistent unlike now. At 17 things started going down hill with hobbies. What I liked always changed and it wasn’t with pop cultural. It was very opposite. But it’s getting to the point where it’s concerning how fast ideas in my head change. Even as I right this I am getting distracted. Does it take anyone else a hour to write a long post? I go on and on and spend 45 minutes editing it. Ya know, gotta take out the excessive stories and detailed sentences that grammatically don’t make any sense. I’ll leave this one unedited hehe welcome 2 my brain It’s also 11pm and I take 60 mg Vyvanse at 8:30 am so my brain is its natural, wonderful self. Wasn’t I talking about inconsistent thoughts? Anyways, my hobbies change because I completely forget the old hobby. In a day I could go through ten hobbies (ok maybe three). I am including university as a hobby because I have changed my major so many times it might as well be. It’s not that I lose interest because when I rediscover it I fall back in love with it. It’s like going to a store as a kid looking at things and each thing was equally as exciting as the last... who am I kidding I’m 22 and that’s how I go thru the store. Slow product turnover? No problem. I have ADHD. I’ll forget what’s on the left side by the time I’m done with the right. On a serious note, I have to scan the store at least twice because I will always find something I like, that I didn’t notice before, the second round. Omg. My question. Older, mature, strong, successful, beautiful, precious women; please tell me when I get older everything falls into place and I suddenly have a sleep routine. And that basic tasks are really that - basic. What are the chances of my partner wanting to suffocate me with a pillow at night for talking so much? (very much a joke). Can I learn to live a successful, clean and organized (anyone else obsessed with organization but can’t make it consistent) life with ADHD? I am exhausted with myself. I love my brain and I love how unique it is but boy oh boy I am EXHAUSTING. How can a human have THIS much to say. THIS MANY THOUGHTS. God made my mental state and thoughts 100% pure crack cocaine power and physical state 100% pure introverted girl who mumbles her way through life. Well. I don’t know what this turned out to be. Eminem’s voice I created a Monster Edit: inconsistency’s with talking a lot and being introverted I only talk a lot when I am around people I feel comfortable with which I know is very relatable
2020.07.07 06:32 homericseptiembredesI feel like a stray dog
Like in the Eminem' s song, let me share my story with you. Somehow this is a group therapy. I feel so sorry for my mom. I saw someone s post saying that people who were abused by narcissistic people, regardless of the relationship kind, cannot feel pity or sorry for them. But the root of the problem is not my romantic partners, I see them as my symptoms that resulted from upbringing. So, I feel sometimes sorry for them. I must admit that I am angry at them. The most important thing, which I did not deserve what they did, but Obviously I could not protect myself emotionally. I realised that I repeated every pattern, always putting her feelings first, in my romantic relationships. Actually it affected every relationship I had, even with myself. There were times that I called her everyday, that I sensed even the smallest low mood she felt. Once that happened, I put emergency button and tried everthing to cheer her up. She is a rescuer and sacrifice herself in every situation then become victim of whatever happens. I see she has been struggling, even now tears coming, but I cannot prevent what her decisions brought to her. When I try to introspect, I see I became her from the day I sensed feelings around me. I feel inferior everytime, as if I am a lion but acting like a mouse. I have a career and am one of the most successful ones in the familiy. However I feel unconfident about everything, it results in having difficulty in making decisions. I became a person who has passed his potential because nobody was there for me. Imposter syndrome...There was no witness. So if there is no witness, not being acknowledged or I could not feel it, would I be considered survivor? I see I am in need of external validation. But the inner and external critics, with the great contributions of my father, does prolonge my struggles. Recently I started to call my mom less and I recognise everytime she calls she kinda makes me feel guilty and ashamed of myself. There is no reason for those feelings around us. I really enjoy living alone but for the last 6 months I feel so tired that I need a nap during the day whenever I spoke with people. This is just getting more present. The number of people I contact made me tired is decreasing. I just do not want to speak. Unfortunately naps make me angry, kinda moddy when I wake up. Maybe it is related with being forced to sleep when I was little. There is no positive point of view in people around me. I feel I am such a warrior of positivity and unfortunately everybody expects me to make them feel less unhappy. I feel guilty if I do not make them feel ok. There is some kind of unwritten rule I am binded, but nobody is responsible, only me. I always contribute to everything I do, relationships, my job... I feel so lonely and tired after reading pete walker s book. I have not lived but I am adult. I always chose people who are not emotionally available, then I repeat the patterns I have gone through. This is the only thing I succeded so far emotionally. The irony! I pick every vampire to rescue them. But I cannot. This feeling that I could be white knight fantasy is so pathetic. This is a loaded topic however my point is on how my personality has been expressed.there is no need to be alpha male in this sad world. I think being alpha only teachs some strategies to be more assertive, this is my understanding from the pete s book. If I have fawn or flight strategies, coaching with anything forcing to create healthy boundaries is beneficial. But I was my family' s emotion dumpster. One made feel less of a child and rejected, and the other used me for emotion regulation. There is no point in this pathological system. Even primates teach their offsprings life skills until they reach a certain age. I learnt everything on my own. I lived in a foreign country for a period. I was always alone and nobody asked how I did or how I was. I did not feel that they worry for me really. I am in great denial of everyhing I missed because otherwise I have to grieve. Everytime I am about to travel I feel nostalgic. These are some symptoms I have experienced and I wanted to share with strangers, in my second language. This is the sole opportunity I have right now. I feel I am blind because The only aspect of people I see is positive ones. This is blindness , the fact that ignoring that people could be bad, abusive. I really need to ignore that, otherwise I feel unsafe. Never felt safe, never felt I do have somewhere my own. Like where is home? I look at the sea for a long time and just emptiness invading every part of me. Not being able to love is kinda blindness that I find similar to Saramgo' s definition in his novel. It is dangerously contagious. I do have a huge heart but I was the one who made promises myself that I would not be somebody like my father. Unfortunately I am. I inherited his critic as my external voice that I break people' s heart in a second in an unrelated topic. I am my mother' s voice as my inner voice, religiously blaming or shaming myself. I am so sorry for everything. I do not blame anyone. But this is not life, which is full of misery. I betray myself everytime my critics take the wheel. But it is so hard to prevent it. As if this is the destiny I am obliged to conform. There are other people neglected my existance and I felt I was not there in that house near them. I am nobody until somebody needs someone. I betray myself everytime I am involved with people' s stupid views. I am more than enoug but I feel that nobody supports me. They just throw stones on my way. I feel lonely so much that I create my own reality in which I believe everybody without questioning their motivations. This is the first thing I do in every relationship. I believe people would love or validate me if I do not question them, mainly their motivations. I am just a person full of wishfull thinking. I am "the giving tree". Still do not blame anyone. I am full of love and I want to keep it. I object living in your distorted world, which is full of labels, negative stereotypes and shame. I wanna be able to protect my love and do not want to feel lost, remorseful or angry. I do my best for everything regardless of situation. Yeah this is how much I lack boundaries. This is just so sad and I feel taken advantage of. Feeling unappreciated fills my days. But I "keep on keeping on". I started my writing with somebody else's feelings and their world. There is no me before anyone. This is so tiring but I still try to please people. This is how naive I am. Whenever I cook I told my family unconsciously to prove that Iam independent or I can cook, but then I realised that this is another way of getting validation. I stopped but there are so many things I cannot discriminate from seeking validation. It is not worth having external validation. It only makes your critics more powerfull and supports their unwarranted claims about how much usefullness is needed to be accepted as a human being. Never felt accepted unconditionally. People implement their agenda on me without hesitation as if they know at first sight how sucker I am. This is hell. Being a chimpanzee is much more different. Probably it is the best. When you are a chimpanzee, you either get nourished and nurtured or you get killed without experiencing human stupidity, abuse at least shorter than ours. Maybe they are living in the heaven. I appreciate everything I have, I feel and opportunities I have. But nobody should judge the other. There should not be any comparison. Everybody deserves a judgement on his own conditions.
2020.07.05 16:11 homericseptiembredesBefore I am gone, I wanna share a story
This piece was written for no purpose and I generally keep such things private. It is a moment I can articulate myself and I wanted to share my realisation. I am not sure if this could be triggering for some but this is mostly breakthrough and a little bit trauma story Like in the Eminem' s song, let me share my story with you. 2020.06.23 21:47 PopCultureCornFeeling Disgruntled about many things regarding KFAD2 + solution
For the record, I think this post is pretty serious..... So, with DJPK's takeover day happening in less than a week, I figured I would take the time to go through some things regarding KFAD2 to which I was feeling down and disgruntled about recently, ever since the event ended, here's a list of them. -the Silvagunner team wanting you to forget the Joy-Con Men ever existed (To those who don't know, the Joy-Con Men initially consisted of a teamup between Reggie Fils-Aimé and Etika, but however, because of events as the time regarding Etika's mental health, the team removed Etika's character from the tournament due to concerns that unwanted attention stemming from the tournament could negatively affect his well-being) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DwMOD72X4AABbXl.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DwmkLYBUwAEjaqi.jpg -Geno had lost twice and he did not feel depressed a single bit, as revealed in KFAD Mojo interview posts (Why does this guy keep losing?!) Geno needs love too! -Various characters were ill-treated, badly ( HOBaRT, Pitbull and the Aliens, Men in Black, ZUN, Quote) -Many of my favorites had not made it as far as I thought they would, or sometimes, they preformed very underwhelming (Mr Krabs, Donkey Kong, Jack & Elmo, Quote, Dr. Robotnik) -Mr. Krabs and Donkey Kong losing to MissingNo -How the heck did Mariya Takeuchi and MissingNo get so far?! -The tournament featured tracks by DJ Cutman, Noteblock, RoBKTA and DM DOKURO (who did 17 tracks for the tournament alone), but people took them and their arrangements as a joke still, they must have felt their works are simply wasted talent -Not a single newcomer won the tournament, which to me, made introducing newcomers pointless -KFAD3 isn't happening (although I do think it will never happen, which is fine I also would like to give my opinions on KFAD2, I think it had ambition, but lacked heart and soul like the first one, just like the Dumbo live-action remake. With all those said, I do have a potential solution to those who were disgruntled about KFAD2, including me: Just give all 32 contestants a Takeover Day This can be done based on where the contestants ranked in KFAD2, from highest to lowest

So basically, just give DJPK his day first, and then go down, all the way to HOBaRT. Each takeover day does not have to be daily. They can take place months apart, maybe even one year apart. If the team could do it that way, it will show that they love to keep their fans happy. Basically, having only one takeover day feel like a very corporate decision, but here are two choices -Make executives happy OR -Make the fans happy Hopefully, the team will make a decision which would be the best of the channel now (I hope it's the bottom one!)
2020.06.12 03:03 RaYgaVRayTHE DEMON FROM ABOVE CHAPTER 9
DARKEST PART OF LIFE I see that I may not be able to go to work today at Jackson Studios because of all of the police here. Police tape surrounds the building with cones and even S.W.A.T. members too. A giant wall of wooden planks acts like a border and guards mount on top. “Yeah, it seems like this place may never be operational again” I overhear a conversation between some officers. “After everything that has happened in this city… nothing is operational” another officer jokes. “Deaths, cults… society’s all in the name of Cipher. Who is Cipher?” One of the three officers ask. “I’m not sure but this ‘Demon’ will not be capturing me…” I walk away and see that through the ally and behind Jackson Studios are firefighters spraying out a giant fire in the building. “What are you doing out here? So close to the building” A strange voice asks me. “Nothing…” “Come join me… if you want to help with this mess…” Dear Letherbook, horrible things have happened. I’m writing in this to inform anyone who finds this book and experience the same things me and my friends have. I believe what’s written in this book is true… The ritual, the demons… The End. I know none of this makes sense, but you haven’t seen it, please believe me. If you know me, come and show me this. My friends got killed, murdered. If you don’t want the same, then find out who this… demon is. Anyways, this is Mallory… and I don’t know what to do… “Mallory! You better not be looking through that fucking Letherbook again!” Angie screams. “I’m not!” I reply. “It’s my own journal!” “Diary” Trevor says in between a cough. Angie drives us off of Military Trail and uses a GPS to find a checkpoint out of the city. She drives me, Trevor, Kristopher, and Mason. Its crammed in this car and the very back is filled with all our personal belongings, more Angie’s then ours. “So… we left pretty late compared to what we agreed on…” Kristopher adds to the silent. “Yeah, it’s probably going to be nighttime by the time we get to Georgia” Mason also adds. “Uhm, when did we agree to move to Georgia?” I intervene. “Listen, it’s the closest place… it’s out of the state and far away from these demons and crazy people” Angie tries to calm me down. “Fuck you…” I joke. “Hey, I’m getting a ride from my friend… so can you drop me off here” I ask as we pass a Duncan Doughnuts. “Uhm… aren’t we your friends who are driving you?” “Yes! But I forgot something…” “Fine then…” I walk for about a mile with the Letherbook in my hand until I reach Military Trail. Making my way to Jackson Studios all the way down the long road. I pass houses, a church, other business buildings and walk down the de-elevating ally way on the side of Jackson Studios. I find the sewage entrance. Knowing what is going on I suppose Valarion must come up with some sort of plan. He knows nothing can stop ‘The Restart’ but what’s the point of hiding during an apocalypse if we will all die anyways? I stay in the corner of the giant room as Valarion is devising a plan under the only light in the room. About five of us are here with others running out an escaping… we are waiting for Mallory. “I’m here… and I do have the Letherbook” Mallory says. “I’ve been seeing and experiencing the same things you are… ‘The End’ is true…” “We need to put this attempt in some use” Valarion suggests. “What’s the point? What we do is going to be lost…” “Shhh… there is a way, their must be. A way to stop all of this and redeem a normal life with normal events” Valarion starts to lose his mind. “But were not gods… or demons… or something beyond being mortal. Its just not possible” Mallory replies back. “It will be… we must find this demon and… next attempt we can speak to these cultists since they worship Cipher so much” Valarion devises. “You may not have the chance to” Mallory hold a gun up to Valarion unexpectedly. “Mallory?” He asks. “I don’t care if this whole event or thing is true… or if it isn’t. I know exactly who this demon is and at this time every loop he left… he went somewhere… somewhere very far away” Mallory explains. “Before he somehow leaves this world, he makes his way to Kentucky… to find someone that can cure his obsession…” “I’m very aware of Trevor” Valarion acts smart. “No… Trevor started this curse but… him… the demon… Tyler… he isn’t a monster, he isn’t evil. This obsession is his curse and it’s a wound that bleeds off of him and onto everyone else’s lives” Mallory explains again. “One life over the life of the universe? You really think anybody is going to think its okay to destroy peoples lives and destroy this universe just to keep a poor soul alive?” Valarion asks, furious. “All lives matter, no matter what the life is like. I was there when this demon possessed him… he started to go mad and he tried to tell everyone about it but no one believed him… so then the demon took full control and stopped him from talking, he no longer could speak from his own mind” Mallory explains for the third time. The three other people in the giant room get up and surround Mallory… stopping her from aiming the gun. “Mallory… your outnumbered” Valarion says. “Shane… he is there right now, but something is wrong… somehow… he can’t get this illness to cure. There is a piece missing” She explains again. “Because your wrong, trust me… I kind of knew him, for a while he thought I could have cured him… but when he found Shane, he knew it must be him” Valarion explains. “Then why don’t you help stop it?” Mallory asks. “Because something happened to Shane, the cure is gone… forever” Valarion changes the conversation. “But now you will be gone… but not forever… only for the rest of this attempt…” Mallory quickly turns around and start shooting people. Valarion has no weapons armed with him so he runs. After Mallory finishes off everyone… she comes up to me in the corner. “Kaden Powerll?” She asks me. I reply with ‘yeah’ as that is my name. I follow her. Valarion escapes the underground museum through a ladder that leads to a sewage drain. Mallory uses up all her fatigue trying to go after him. When she makes it to the top and up on the street, he is nowhere to be seen. “This is bullshit!” She exclaims. “So, what we must do is go to Georgia where my friends are… and make a plan with them there” Mallory continues. “Oh, and I must warn you… they may not be too fond with you…” Angie, Kristopher, and Trevor aint too happy with me. Actually, neither is any student at that school too happy with me. I was thought of as a helper of Cipher because of an account predicting and planning deaths that had my name. I don’t remember much, I neither have much emotions so it comes to the question: who am I? And how did I believe myself when I said I didn’t plan those killing? My only assumption is Valarion or someone else doing… Lobotomy on me. “We might be able to take a train or subway or find another ride or way to reach the checkpoint border of the city” Mallory explains. “Do you have any idea of what the threat is? The thing that is making people evacuate?” I ask her. She gulps, “I feel as if it might be worse then we can imagine… no deadline… no wait… just all of a sudden the mayor planned an evacuation… not even planned but just told everyone to leave” Mallory explains. “Horrifying… who were those people that you guys were talking about?” I ask, politely. “Trevor, Tyler, and Shane? They are a few friends… obsesses, passions, humans” Her voice drifts off. “Well… it seems as if… people are dying… constantly” I bring to light the situation. “This all felt weird to me… but now I see the visions and hear those whispers… its all true… nothing was faked or made up” Mallory cries. “Okay well… not too far away is buses which are evacuating people from the city… they come every ten minutes so we can go catch one” I change the subject. We walk to the trolly where there are so many people that some are hanging out from the cart. We go to “Maybe… somethings should be left forgotten… or perhaps… not” A slow voice says from behind me. I’m not able to look behind myself but I can see out my car window. I see trees shaking as they give out a bluish glow. The dirt path floods with black water as my car drives slowly by itself over it. “Do you want more of this? Isn’t this glorious?” “Who is this? What is this? What are you?” I ask as I regain the ability to talk… but not through my mouth. “An old friend” The masculine voice bursts with laughter. “Obsession?” I ask. “It kills” His voice becomes innocent. “This isn’t what I wanted… deaths… tragedies… but there is no way out now, endangered… a sepiatoned nightmare” He regains the dark echo in his voice. “A demon…” “Angie, Beware of The End…” If, on this night we wanted to leave this state it will be a whole operation of problems. Our first problem came underway as the bus didn’t even go all the way to the checkpoint but only a couple of miles away from Jackson Studios. Our newly founded and perfect plan Is getting access to a helicopter which is probably impossible, so we decided to leave without going through a checkpoint. I left all my luggage in Angie’s car so my phone and headphones (for music purposes) are the only things I carry with me. “Google Earth shows that there is an opening in a gate on the coast of Lake Okeechobee… however about a mile away is cops and a checkpoint” Kaden adds. “Okay, so we might have to use that gate to avoid the checkpoint since you don’t have a citizen ID… since you’re not a citizen” I explains. We walk until we find another bus, and after that we continue to take buses and transits as Kaden gets on for free and I waste almost a hundred dollars. We can’t get any further to Lake Okeechobee through transit from Southwest Minute Maid Road. Instead, we decide to walk the ten miles to the lake. “Mallory, usually at car dealerships or car warehouses they have this polisher that they use for the cars… what if we use my bus ID and some scraps to make it look real like a citizen ID” Kaden suggests. “Good idea… but! You could have said this before I wasted so much money… so now the answer is not, and we are continuing to the lake” I demand. “We can’t Mallory… obviously their will be cops and S.W.A.T.’s everywhere making sure no one escapes without checking out or going through the checkpoint. “Fine, I guess we could go back and take transits to some sort of dealership or car making factory” I agree. We make it back to the previous bus stop and onto another bus. Eventually we make it to a car dealership on the edge of West Palm. It’s completely empty, completely dark. From behind the window of the front door I can see a picture frame of the manager on the wall by the counter. He looks familiar, I might have seen a commercial of his before. Supposedly he used to be a mountain climber then stopped and moved to a big city which his first job was selling cars… he is good at it. His name is Markus Mawalikye, or people call him M And M… Eminem. “Alright… I think my bus pass Is definitely enough to open this door” Kaden says as he crams his ID between the door and the wall. It finally unlocks with a click and a faint alarm sound echo’s through the small building. We both quickly run to the back room which has three doors: Managers Office, Supply Storage, and Repair Storage. We agree that the polisher would most likely be in the repair storage. We can’t even see the other doors because of how dark the building is. “Doors locked again, going to use my ID” Kaden says. As he unlocks the door, I hear crying from another room, and then someone moves a chair from that same room. The only place a chair could really be would be in the managers office which would indicate that Markus is in the building… and knows we are hear too. I quietly open the door as Kaden still works on the other door on the corner wall. “When will it end?” I see Markus crying in his chair, looking down at a picture frame. “Hello? May I come in?” I ask. “Who’s there?” “It’s just someone… you don’t know me… but what’s wrong?” “This vicious memory I have kills me… only mentally kills me” He explains. “I may be having the same problem” I try to comfort him. “It’s a constant memory of the same thing… a repeat perhaps of tragedy…” “Exactly… but…” I look at his ears… one of them is cut off with blood around it… it looks recent, “Well… I really need to go, but I will fix this” I say before quickly closing the door. Kaden unlocks the final door and I take his ID and lock the Managers office from the outside. “Okay…” Kaden says in confusion. “It’s a long story” I reply to calm him. We go in, find the polisher, and insert the ID. A loud screech echoes through the room and the whole building. It eventually clicks with a beep on the machine. “I will see were my friend is but for now we need to make it to the checkpoint… the closest one” I demand. “Were going to Georgia?” “Angie!” I wake up with the startle of Kris’s voice. “What happened?” I ask in a daze. “You… somehow fell asleep” Kris replies to my question. Everyone In the room is worried and Trevor is walking back and forth. I notice this unfamiliar place… this must be the cabin we were driving to until the accident happened. “Well, I was talking to someone” I say. I get up and look out the window. The dirt pathway that leads to the cabin has a bit of that black liquid with part of the path stained. As if something dried. “You must have had another dream” Trevor suggests. “Yeah, but this time I was talking to… him… or it… Cipher” I reply. “What did he say?” Kristopher asks, surprised. “It was innocent…” I reply. “It was acting as If it had multi-personalities. At times it would be quiet and depressed, at others it would act like this newfound apocalypse was the best dang TV comedy to exist!” “We shouldn’t wait… lets finish unpacking for the rest of today since it’s the afternoon, and tomorrow we can see what’s in the town” Kris plans. “I will find out what college we can and will be going to next year” Mason adds. Around the cabin are pictures and arts of different types of deer’s, there even is a deer head hanging on the wall. I notice that there is an upstairs, so I go look around. The first floor has a small hall with a back door, a bathroom, and a couple of bedrooms. Upstairs, however, has another bathroom, more rooms and a surprisingly big closet. “We already made the options of where people sleep… your upstairs” Mason says to me. “Great… I guess all you men can just bring in the luggage as I stay inside” I say as a feminist joke. “Funny, remember… Mallory is also coming so you might need to share a room with her” Mason adds. “Great” I say sarcastically. I walk out of the cabin through the back door and stare out into the beautiful Georgia nature. About a million more transits we finally make it close enough to start walking to the checkpoint. We pass Palm City and head to Stuart over the bridge above St. Lucie River. We get walk on the highway listed as ‘1’, we follow the pack of people walking on the road. Past the giant river and onto the North River Shores we reach the checkpoint. “We need to travel to Waycross Georgia” I say. “There should be an airport somewhere there… we can probably take a plane there” Kaden suggests. “I’m kind of scared of planes” I reply. “Out of everything?” Kaden asks. “Maybe we can just take a boat there… like a cruise” I suggest. “You have money?” Kaden asks. “Where not paying” I joke. “Alright, Daytona Beach or Palm Coast should be some sort of curse line or industry” Kaden says. It seems as if he knows a lot about Florida. I don’t want to ask but maybe he was fed a lot if knowledge about this state from Cipher. The sun starts to set, and we make it at the end of the line to the checkpoint. The officer examines Kaden’s detailed bud pass. He looks at it multiple times and looks back at him, confused. “They must have done some sort of different work on your ID sir” The officer says to Kaden. “Looks good, you shall go…” “Don’t mind him… he’s a friend” I joke and try to act friendly to the big officer. “He is also a terrorist…” “Funny joke…” The officer looks at me, surprised at what I said. “You may go mam…” “Mallory, why would you say that I am a terrorist” Kaden asks me. “I was trying to get on his good side!” I argue. “Plus, I think I almost made him laugh!” We walk down the giant empty street. “Come here” Another officer says. He has his head tilted down, with his hat covering most of his face. He is much taller than me. “What?” I ask. “Now… where is the Letherbook?” He laughs, I see that it is Jeremy. “You? Again? Please… we all want to end this… join us” I try to convince him not to do anything. He grabs my arm. “Kaden run!” I yell. Valarion comes up to us on the bridge, I’m defenseless. I learn that Jeremy’s last name is Valarion and Valarion’ s first name is Shawn. They are brothers, but Shawn is about nine years older than Jeremy. It seems as if they both have gone mad and crazy overtime, or one manipulated the other. “We probably should catch up with Kaden before he gets too far” Valarion suggests. “Yes” Jeremy replies with a fire. I feel outnumbered with both of them standing to my sides. They are both probably six feet one and six feet two. Must be in their genes. “Oh, and Mallory, you won’t be attending that cruise you and Kaden were planning on” Valarion says. “Wait… how do you know about that?” I ask. “Beware of your surroundings and who we hire to do our biding” Jeremy adds. “Welp, you sure think after many attempts and knowledge of what is going to happen, we sure would have an upper advantage” Valarion explains. “But we can all end this in peace! We don’t need to fight!” I again try to convince them to join me but… it probably won’t work out well. “This again? Nobody else would agree to this would they? Kaden is evil! He is just trying to befriend you to get his way to your friends so he can lure them back into Florida… I thought that would be obvious” Valarion explains. “What? No… that’s not true” I reply. “It is… you know he is… some sort of soldier from Cipher” Jeremy adds. “Here… remember that demon that chased you and your friends about three times and in the last attempt it destroyed the building of Jackson Studios… that was Kaden controlling it” Valarion explains again. “Yeah, and that other machine just walking down the street… that was also him” Jeremy adds. “I guess you may be right, but Cipher is only doing this because he is forced to… or Tyler is doing this because the illness in Cipher is controlling Tyler and driving him mad” I say. “Exactly… so we must kill them” Valarion says. “No… that’s wrong. Its not their fault… only the illness” I argue. “We had this conversation already! If we can’t save people, then we must kill what the problem is!” He yells. When he loses his guard after yelling, I push off of Jeremy and run down the bridge. Trying to find Kaden. “Get her…” Valarion demands. Night falls and we spend the late night on the padio, drinking… “What do men and beer bottles have in common? They are both empty from the neck up” Trevor jokes. “Very funny, like I haven’t heard that online before” I say, sarcastically. “I’m empty from the neck down” Kris also jokes. “Mason, you sure you don’t want to… drink?” I ask him. “No… I don’t really want people to see me drunk” Mason replies. “Oh, well my drunk side is like a time traveler walking out of the bar” I say with my eyes wide open. Just as I say, I become a time traveler and end up in my bed at one in the morning. I only have little glimpses of last night. I wake up in a haze with no light poles outside nor the moon. Its completely dark and I quickly grab my phone which is always the closest inch to me on the side table. Minutes later I finish using the bathroom and as I make my way back to my room, I hear some kind of noise. A noise from under the cabin. It could just be a skunk or a raccoon. I then notice a light coming from the staircase, through the planks. I move the table that is up against the wall and see that a miniature makeshift door is here, leading to a room. “Hello?” I ask, expecting a response. I quickly open the door to see that the door leads to another flight of stairs, like some sort of basement. I walk down the concrete stairs and enter a long hallway, at the end is a white, old, and rusty door. Approaching it, I open it with fear. The final room it leads to has tally marks all of the walls, some with only three lines and a cross through it. “Hello?” I ask again. I see someone in the back of the room, a boy. He seems to be about me and my friends age, he just stands. He stands by a metal ladder that leads to the surface. I can see the moon shining into the hole and grass sinking in. “I’m Mallory’s friend, she is coming here soon… so if you may just sleep and come back in the morning” He explains. “I want to believe you… but I just don’t. So, can you tell me your name and maybe I can remember if I have heard about you” I ask. “No, I own this cabin so get out” He says, sarcastically. “Wait… is that the Letherbook?” I ask, noticing what he is holding. “Uhm, well obviously I must have to know Mallory to have this” He replies to my observation. “Or… you probably stole it from her… maybe even killed her” I grab the gun from my side. “That’s crazy talk…” He exclaims. I march up to him, but before I do anything, I see his ID. He tries to hold it back, but I quickly steal it. Unearthly it says Kaden Powerll… but it seems like it almost has Jackson as his last name. “Your Kaden Powerll?” I ask, surprised. I couldn’t believe it… the killer… the person that supposedly planned these killings are in my basement. Well, not my basement but certainly not his own basement. So many people back at the college hated him for the text messages he sent. “The killer?” I ask. “The owner of Jackson Studios?” “Do you just believe any rumors you hear?” He asks back. “No, just…” I stop. A wave of sadness comes across me and everything goes gray. I hear see text messages rolling over my eyes… it calls out. “I believe not by my opinion or words and not by any others but by logic and reasoning” The messages state. The person who typed these messages is named Shane. “Angie? Are you alright?” He asks, confused. Hearing comes back from the buzzing that filled my ears two seconds ago. “What is going on?” I cry. “Why have people died? What is happening back in Florida?” “Its… a curse… I can’t tell you anything but…” Kaden stops. I hear a noise outside. “Anyone?” I hear Mallory yell. We both climb up the ladder and as we get to the surface Kris, Mason, and Trevor are already outside, Approaching Mallory. “Thanks god…” Mallory says. Someone behind me grabs Kaden, taking him next to Mallory. Then another person comes out from the darkness and points a gun at Mallory. “What’s going on?” Mason asks. “Just… a friendly remark” Valarion says as he is the one pointing the gun at Mallory. “Soon, it will be the morning of the last day of this year… and we are building an army… a giant gang about the ground instead of a pestering society!” This whole time I’ve had my hand on my gun by my hip. Valarion just stares off with silence. I see the resemblance in his and Jeremys face showing that they are more than partners… in crime. “See you all very soon” Valarion says before shooting a tin bullet through Mallory’s skull, killing her. I grab my gun and shoot off at them as they run back into the darkness, dragging Kaden with them. They shoot back at me from the darkness, but all the bullets miss. “Fuck, they killed Mallory!” Trevor says, astonished. “Yeah, it’s a bit obvious and a bit much what they did” Kris replies to Trevor. “Alright, as our navigator Mason said a while ago, there is a giant hotel across town” I say. “Because I really don’t feel to safe or permitted here anymore…” We all go back inside and take our bags, most of them were already packed up. Later, we rush out and I drive to the hotel. They tie me in a shopping cart from Publix and they also rob the said Publix. They did get people scared enough to join them, and so did they make some money from the place. This Publix has always been one of the shady and rusty ones in the low end of Georgia. The manager of this establishment is William Cawthon, he is about forty-nine. Unfortunately for the workers this manager wasn’t here today, but fortunate for Valarion. After this incident I get a glimpse at the news as Jeremy is on his phone the whole time and scrolls through Twitter. “Were popular” Jeremy said when he found out about the reports. They are being known as the Valarion brothers and are listed responsible for breaking and entering into the museum. Apparently, the underground museum had police tape around it before they took it down a couple of years ago. “We must grow a bigger army in order to make a dent on this world” Valarion replies. Five people are behind us following which proves that Valarion is a good manipulator and influencer. “Am I apart of your army?” I ask, trying to make a joke out of this. “No, you’re a poor hostage that nobody wants to pay ransom for” Valarion says, nobly. “Wow, that’s tuff” I joke again. “So, Shawn. Not too far away is a Georgia chemical facility, there we can find a project that the government have been working on ever since the incident” Jeremy explains. “Tell me Kaden, have you ever heard about the death of Lily Williams? Or the incidents and killings all around town?” Valarion asks. “No, I haven’t” I lie. Of course, I have heard all about these tragedies, it’s become one of the biggest things in this country now. ‘Hundreds of college students die, coming back from the dead and possessed by black liquid’. ‘People go mad and crazy… dying with a bloody name, Cipher’ most headlines would say. It’s almost impossible not to hear about this with all the papers on walls of missing students and technical stores closing for a few days after a young adult female robbed them. Of course, that young female is Ivy, the girl who hid at the old warehouse. “Pretty hard to miss” Valarion replies. In the far distance, off the hill were on in the red morning and past dozens of trees and other hills is a giant building. Some colors glow from this giant industrial building, green, pink, and blue. “What would be the radius of the explosion if we set a bomb in there?” Jeremy asks. “I’m not sure, I’m no chemist” Valarion replies. I remember Shawn. His tone, pitch, contrast of his voice is so much similar to him back in his senior years. Well, I never met or seen him in person back then. I only new him from the technology Cipher had here. I suppose that Shawn wouldn’t give up his phone, ever. He might still have it on him, and if he does and I steal it maybe I can find some useful or interesting information. But it will have to wait as I couldn’t not use my arms at this moment. We make it over the final hill and down to the side gate of the building. The building was built back in 1984 as the finished year. Its completely hollow inside with a few rooms and offices on the edges then with a giant glass, locked room elevated in the middle. Around the floor is mini rivers of chemicals surrounded with railings, so nobody touches the biohazard. Jeremy stops the cart with me in it right in front of the exit door inside of the building, facing the elevated middle room. Valarion stands to my side and watches Jeremy as he walks with the five troops to the said middle room. Some guy is in the room, a researcher or a scientist based on his white lab coat. I wonder what this project that the government is working on could be? I heard that my captures said they came hear to take it… a useful device. “You know Kaden, after going underground… everyone already have forgotten their past, and us. We were unknow… we were long, long forgotten. It was easy now to do crimes without people acknowledging it was us” Valarion tells me, as a story. “The only reason I’m with Cipher is because he brought me here, Mallory is right… nobody is wrong in this equation” I explain. “Yeah, I know. But without a solution we must pick a side… the dark or the Wihte” He replies. “The Wihte? I’ve heard of that before… from Cipher. What is it?” I ask. “He… it doesn’t talk about much huh? Well…” Valarion starts to refrain from his evil tone into a calm and innocent tone. “It is this white liquid, I’m not sure what it means or does and who is the leader of it, or the middle… something to keep it stable” Valarion explains. “There is so much more that exists then we know of… a whole other world… were monsters live” I say in awe. “Negative energy” Valarion adds. “You know, we could be friends if you weren’t trying to kill me” I say. “I’m not trying to kill you, and yeah… maybe…” I watch Jeremy and his troops slaughter the scientist and take the weird ‘Chinese’ type designed lantern that was on the metal table. Maybe it’s not a lantern, but it sure looks like it. We arrive at the hotel. The parking lot is completely empty and a sign at the end of the lot reads ‘Comfort Suite’. We park right up in front of the walkway that leads to the entrance of the building. The lights in the building are completely out except for the lobby. We wait for a receptionist to come to the front desk but after a couple of minutes it becomes aggravating. “Where is everyone?” Trevor asks. “Maybe sleeping, its almost two in the morning I believe” I reply. We walk to the hallway on the left side, it’s a short hallway… probably meant for deluxe rooms. My friends starts sitting and laying on the ground out of exhaustion. A while later I see that a door is cracked open on the left side of the hallway. I walk towards it, curious that maybe the lady at the front desk would be in there. Of course, it could be a man at the front desk and not a lady but, whoever they are… they are probably in here. I peep through the slightly opened door and it is pitch black inside. “Hello?” I ask the darkness. Without an answer I go into the room and flip the light switch. Like a frightening jump scare I see the walls full of bleeding black triangles. Horrifying, like some sort of phobia… surrounded by triangles. Who would draw this on their wall? I look around and other then the wall it is well cleaned up. No trash in the trash bin, the bed is perfectly made, and no clothes in the closet neither the draws. Nobody seems to live here. The bathroom door is closed, usually people don’t keep it closed because of the air conditioning. Someone might be in there. Naturally, I walk up to the door and see if it’s locked. When I touch the doorknob, I can feel the rough rust on it. Wind howls through the room, like an echo. The door opens into the dark bathroom, I search for the light switch. “Hello?” I ask the room. I fail to find the light switch, so I go in, shut the door behind me, and use my phones flashlight. I turn around and face the door, then I shine my light at the side if the door but see no light. Again, turning and when my light shines forwards, I notice. I’m not in a bathroom but a garage. Before me is a white house door which I approach. When I open it, it leads to a normal, perfect looking house. A quite big one floored house… and mostly white. Granite plates surrounds the top of the counters and a different rock is used as a little wall print all around the lower walls above the counters. “Come in” A weird, scratchy voice says. When the female voice speaker I jumped because of how 2sudden it was. “Oh, sorry I didn’t know anyone was home” I apologize. I walk to where the voice was, entering a very white living room. I sit on the white couch as the outside is shining in on us two. But the outside isn’t normal, but a white… all white. A white void exists around this house, a bright white. “Well, sit down” She insists. She is a really old woman, white. She seems so skinny with a very wrinkling face and fainted pupils. “Why are you? If I may ask” I say, politely. “Well, you can just call me…” She thinks for a moment. “The beldaphine…” “Interesting name… is ‘The’ the first name or is it just an homage?” I ask. “How about you just call me it” She says, rudely. I wonder why I’m here, what this could mean, and if this is a dream. Does somebody really have a house connected to a hotel room? My friends did think it was a deluxe room… very deluxe. “So, you live in this hotel?” I ask, curiously. I then think about what traumatized me in the other room. “And what was on the walls back there?” I point my thumb to the garage. “Ah, yes. This is my home and my home is as comfort as comfort can be” She moves her head in rhythms. “Ight, well I might as well leave… sorry for just coming in on you” I say as I get up. “But Angie… you mustn’t leave” She begs. She said my name… how the fuck did she know my name? I look back at her with worried eyes when she finished her sentence. “Why ‘mustn’t’ I leave” I mock her. “I’ve heard about you… ‘my son’ talked about you… a lot” She stops. White tears come from her face, the opposite of that dark liquid. “Me? I have a lot of male friends… too much perhaps” I reply. “Stay here, I found something a while ago from him. I will be back…” She gets up and walks slowly to her room which is pretty dark eerie for a bright house… a white house. As she walks, I can see her spin sticking out… all the bumps, millions. She pushes the two inches of the sliding door that sticks out from the wall back into said wall with a loud crash. I sit and wait... but then I decide it’s not worth it, so I get up and quietly head towards the garage door. When I turn the knob, I find out its locked. “I said you mustn’t leave!” Her voice echoes more as the deeper it gets. Objects crash and crack from within the bedroom she went into. Scraping of sharp metal is the next thing I hear. Walking slowly to the mini hallway connected to another living room on my left, I see a giant case of little white glass people. It seems some are missing and out of place… like they were stolen. Tiny shards and specks of white glass fill the bottom of the case. I pass the case and continue down a small hall only leading to three doors. The one on the left is locked, tightly; the one on the right is a small bathroom which leads to nothing; a few feet from it is the final door which the lighting by it is much, much darker. When I approach it, I feel a wiggle in my back. The Letherbook is hidden under my shirt and slightly in my pants. I take the book out and ignoring what I learnt from looking into this book I still peak. When I open on a random page, the same exact hallway that I’m standing in front of flashes before me in this book; I then turn around and face the white closet with angled sliding doors. When I close and open the book back up, I see the drawn closet, and information. “In the past two people have entered this creased place and three people have hid in this dark closet, one of them being Tyler himself. Dangers lurk around here, beware” I read the book aloud to myself. When I stop, pounding occurs… growing louder. The louder it grows the more frightening it is. The old lady, The Beldaphine comes out from the room and slams its sharp pointy hand on the wall. A metal, tin? Iron? Hand. “The Letherbook…. Give it to me! Or I will take it… off of your dead body!” She yells then screams, running towards me in terror. She is no longer the old lady nor a she for that matter but a horrible twisted creating of broken glass figures… her face… no eyes. “Give it to me!” Her voice grows deeper and darker. I run fourth the final door at the end of the hall and praying that it isn’t locked… it wasn’t locked. It runs at me. black, no longer dark brown or glistering hair with only a few white strips. She has no eyes and a mouth full of blades, her lips dark as the opposite of this void I’m surrounded by. She is much tall, not being able to stand up straight in this house, she must be at least eight feet. Her hands class and fingers are as skinny as paper and… metal of course. Slamming the door behind me I hear her hit straight into it. Looking around the room, the Leather book doesn’t open up to anything in here. It must be that this book only open up to stuff that people wrote in it, almost makes sense. A bed, a black table with a black Dell computer, red chair, and a couple of black shelves behind it, one taller than the other. A cut-out of a creepy cartoon character stands to my right, on the walls and closet door is posters of the said character. “Get out! He is not here! No longer! He suffers from the illness that grows within himself!” she yells… banging constantly on the door. She sticks her long fingers under the door, but never could she get it open. Not without the Letherbook. “What is this place?” I ask. “The only place I can be” She says, calming down. I walk deeper into the room, by the desk is many wires connecting to the computer. When I open the computer, I see that it is identical to the one in Jackson Studios… and the phone next to it. Two phones, an old Samsung and a newer one a couple of years older than it. When I unplug the phone from the computer it comes off from the cord smoothly, unlike what Kris described about the one at the studio. On the computer is videos and images, mostly about… a guy named Shane. I cry, I see pictures… some videos of him… each one older. ‘If I could I would press rewind, I can’t live without you. I see you growing old, but my love for you only grows’ I read a note, on pink paper. Obsession, the thought of Shane stuck in his mind, watching him grow old in Kentucky with his girlfriend. To eventually die and the funeral is the only thing in person he would see. ‘I can’t live without you, my love for you only grows… my life wasted obsessing for you… I will give everything up for you’ I know what the end is. It’s not the end but a restart… a chance for Tyler to see Shane again. “Hello, its Tyler, many cases of the virus is in the state so there will be no school… probably until summer” audio plays. “Hey, how is Kentucky? I’ve left a couple of messages hope you see them” the next audio plays. “Day five hundred and sixteen, it’s been quite a while. This is Tyler by the way, an old friend you had” the final audio plays. When I open the door to the rest of the house, it’s not the same. All broken and collapsed… abandoned for years. There is not glass sculptures nor debris in the giant case. Nobody is here and I walk to the garage in sadness. I’m not sure what I would do if I lost someone I loved. When I finally make it to the lobby of the hotel everyone comes up to me, worried. “Angie, where were you?” “What’s wrong?” “Are you okay?” They all ask. “I’m fine, we just need to go back… to Florida” I say “What? Why?” Trevor asks. We all walk out and the sky fades. I see people freaking out and pointing up at the sky, the black sun. A sun, a black sun with almost a line or some kind of giant glare through it busts out of the atmosphere and into the night sky. It makes the sky look red; I walk fourth to a river. In the river I see my reflection but myself with black eyes. “It’s… the end…”

Hello, I (33 M) was listening to Eminem & Mariah Carey and thought do you ever think of the biggest regrets? My partner (31 F) was talking about how it was hard to juggle between work and school. Sometimes she thinks she shouldn’t have took on a such a load. I agreed. It’s hard doing both. I, an INTJ, feels like she should’ve planned something BEFORE she, an ISFJ, decided that. I love her so much but now she’s trying to figure it out. I hate when she stresses like that. I wish I could tell her that it’s okay or I’m not going any where, but I can’t. Too many wishes or rushed promises. It’s not entirely her fault but my shady shadow side can’t help but blame her. She thinks talking out is going to fix everything. I understand it’s hard but I feel ( I mean this without trying to be critical) like she wasn’t seeing the big picture. There wasn’t a perfect way of doing it. I wish she would’ve consulted me sooner. It’s my fault our relationship is in shambles. But there were a lot of testing in the subject as well. Maybe she didn’t want to take the risk, maybe she changed her mind. I don’t know what to do! Where are the boundaries? Sometimes they way I think Is black and white but I know she never wanted to consult me, and she wouldn’t to this day if she had it HER WAY. She’s breaking three hearts. Mine, hers, and her balancing act. I don’t think she wants this life anymore and I don’t know if I do as well.
2020.06.05 23:23 razzykuI (22M) really hate my girlfriend’s (22F) parents
I’m sorry in advance if I offend anyone in whatever way possible. I’m also sorry if I didn’t explain it well as I just wanted to let steam off my chest. I just wrote down what I felt like writing just to release stress as I’ve been losing sleep out of my hatred towards my partner’s parents. Well I would like to start off as when I say I “hate “ them, I mean it with passion. Currently where I live it is around 5am and I’ve been up all night thinking of a way to vent out what I feel atm. My anger towards her parents really made me feel very very agitated, irate, and helpless recently. I love my partner, she’s everything to me. We’ve been together for almost 5 years. I like to think I had a good start with her parents but my relationship with them never really escalated to something better. Apparently, I figured out that, based on my observation, her parents are controlling. At the start of our relationship I didn’t give it some mind, but now we’re a little older..? They’re really controlling. Her mother is the one I hate the most and her dad is pretty chill/relaxed to be honest but if things don’t go his way he just terrorizes. Her mother dictates what she has to do. She’s still living with them at the moment so there’s nothing I can do. She’s 22 years old and she still needs to rely on her mother’s permission to leave the house or do whatever. Especially now since we have the quarantine up, but from where I live, we’re allowed to go out but still have safety precautions. I hated how her mother doesn’t allow her to come to my place but allow ME to come to theirs. I see it as a reason that it’s better that if I get infected with the virus rather than her daughter. But if I get infected, I’m bringing it to them not to nobody else! To add, my girlfriend has a job. She’s a graphic designer for a certain company. She works very hard and dedicatedly. All she wanted was a good time to ease her mind from all the deadlines, the presentations, the clients. She wanted to come to my house to relax but then her mother steps in to not allow her. I recall her being really down and telling me her dream of living in another place. She wants to live in her own place with me without the control of her parents. Also, around 2 years ago we plan to go out of the country to visit my house in London. We planned how we could get and save money for our trip only to be ruined by her parents. I remember she went to me crying, as in bawling, and told me that her parents didn’t allow her. Apparently her parents told her that “You’re not even married yet and you’re going to run off to another country?”. She got scolded and embarrassed by her parents. Well my words for you my future in-laws is, yes because we can you asshole. I enjoy thinking or dreaming of living on our own without her manipulative and controlling parents. I know I have to respect them but I spite them for eternity. My anger, my bitterness, I know it would carry on even until we have a family. Imagining that I’m going to have them as in-laws? Oh. My. God. I dream of ignoring them all through out my life when I start a family with her. It kind of reminds me how Eminem hated her mother. But in my case, I hate my girlfriend’s parents. For now I’m unsure on what is the best thing I could do. I could convince her to run away from her family and live with me but I doubt that will happen. Even though her parents are like that, she loves them unconditionally. I know my limits and I’ll never use an ultimatum like “It’s either me or your family” because I’ll be crossing the line. But I don’t know if I could contain myself. If you could feel how my blood boils on how she is raises and treated, you’ll be surprised. Lastly to add, sorry I just remembered about this as I was about to finish up! She’s been using a fucking worn out macbook that’s been broken countless of times. She is making things work with what she has right now. She had that macbook ever since she was in high school and never changed it! I was wondering why her parents couldn’t support her especially she’s from an art course where they need laptops, tablets, some paid applications for them to do her job. Her parents didn’t afford to buy her a laptop more designed for her work. BUT THEN I FOUND OUT, just to make their youngest child switch schools, they bribed him with a Nintendo Switch. All I could think was, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY? YOUR DAUGHTER NEEDED MUCH MORE RATHER THAN A BRIBE FOR YOUR YOUNGEST. With that extra money, you could’ve helped her get a laptop that doesn’t break down every couple of months when she was in college! She’s still using that even today! But just to make your youngest child happy, you decided to give him a switch instead of giving your eldest something to help her in work! I don’t understand them. Can anybody give me pointers or lessons or whatever. I can be open minded and please feel free to talk to me either through comments or through DMs. I just want some advice because I’m in a rough time. TLDR; I hate my girlfriend’s parents for being controlling and manipulative towards her. My girlfriend and I dream of living on our own without her parents telling her what or what she can do. And also they don’t know how to spend their money wisely. I’m enraged by her parents and I really don’t like them. I’ll never forgive them even if it costs me my life.
