I have a flat pink spot that looks like it’s Pityriasis Rosea (according to google images) around my solar plex region. I don’t have insurance to see a dermatologist. It doesn’t itch, but sometimes feels/looks dry. It started out small like the size of a dime, and it seems to be growing faster as of recent. Almost the size of a quarter.
According to google, it’s caused by a herpes virus and should go away in a few months. The thing is, I’ve had it for YEARS and has not disappeared at all.
I’m beginning to worry since it’s growing. I don’t know what it could be.

Small Background:
I am currently undertaking Ben Eater's 8 Bit Computer project. I doing this by following his videos and taking detailed notes and exploring each component. I am up to the part where is he building a clock selector with 1 inverter (74LS04) 1 AND GATE (74LS08) and 1 OR GATE (74LS32)
I wanted to build my own simple circuit with an inverter, just to get a feel for it. It did not perform the way I expected it. My expectation was that when the switch is open the LED will be ON, and when I close the switch the LED will be off.
I started doing basic trouble shooting with a multi-meter and noticed that pin 1a was at 1.2V. So my assumption is that 74LS04 considers 1.2V to be high and outputs a low on bin 1Y. I inserted a pull-down resistor on pin 1a and the circuit started performing the way I originally expected it to perform.
This brings me to my question at what voltage does 74LS04 considered the input to be high and what what voltage does it considers it to be LOW. I went to the datasheet here and need some help. On page 5 there are recommended operating conditions. From my understanding VIH is high- level input voltage (2V min) and VIL is low-level input voltage (.8v max)
Does this mean that if pin 1 is at .7v the IC will consider it to be low and if it is at 2v it will consider it to be high? If so why did the LED not light up when it was at 1.2v? I have no experience with reading datasheets. Am I interpreting the data sheet correctly?
What happenes between .8v and 2v, is it high or low?
Side note, I have tied all unused pins to ground, which is not shown in my schematic.
